Ah well, a guy can dream...
Why would you dream that? The MAC isn't a great conference, but it is wildly better than the SWAC, MEAC, NEC, Big South, etc. Those are the conferences that are slid into the 15 and 16 seeds.

Like the other poster said, Miami (OH) would be in the 10-12 range and an extremely tough scout. Do you believe the undefeated record? Do you lean towards the metrics and hold them hostage because of the MAC schedule?

Whoever gets them(should they win the MAC) will be extremely uncomfortable. Nothing worse than the unknown.

If they are actually undefeated come Selection Sunday that seems like a classic "there's no good answer so just chuck 'em in an 8-9" scenario.
I agree with that. If they're 30-0(or however many games they'll have played), it's going to be incredibly tough to seed them. Put them in the 8/9 or 7/10 game, move on and see what sticks. Just no great answer here. Can't penalize them for going undefeated, yet can't reward them for having a poor SOS.

I will definitely try to corroborate if this is actually rare tomorrow, but it seems so Illinois to have our own beat writer rank us lower than the average. Fits this weird self-deprecating, “down to Earth” vibe so many Illini fans seem to go for while every other fan base is filled with unapologetic homers. Anyone ever read the r/Illini posts? Makes me want to vomit how many Illini fans refuse to hype us up in some vein effort to convince other teams’ fan bases that we’re like uniquely reasonable or something. 🙄

Sports fans on reddit when talking about their own team seems to always come off as a 'woe is me', 'I just hope we keep it close' wimpy lack of confident fan of your favorite team. Some of the most pathetic fans are on reddit. Being a homer is looked down upon that site. Agreed it makes me sick.

Hell, just read some of the post game threads here on Loyalty . . .
