Got to shoot better. My question is it looks like teams can play physical with us on the perimeter. Do we not sell the contact well enough to get calls. It looks like in games we struggle with is when we can’t operate smoothly

Look. We lived exile for so long that we forgot that we can actually have a winner. Brad brought us out of exile, but he has proven without a shadow of a doubt that he cant take us to the promise land. Now if you want to exist there then that’s on you. But he doesn’t have what it takes unless his recruited talent bails him out on what would (from what i can tell) be flat out luck.
For all the people who want to argue the numbers, matrix, and kenpom. Numbers don’t friggin matter in sports. Letters do. The W and the L. And brad just flat out can’t get it done when it comes to elite (as he would say)

The problem is we didn't come out flat. We were right on schedule, up 5 after Wagler hit the three and one. The well went dry after that. Our #1 weapon is the three. We were 9 of 29. They crash the glass and gave big, physical, athletic men at every position. Keaton and Mirkovic are still kids. They got physically worn down. Not sure what level of athlete that you are/were, but whether it be basketball or football, when you get leaned on and physically pounded, your body is just done. It happens all the time. Our start was great because we were hitting shots. When that dried up....game over.

We have a lot of size, but we saw a physically superior team on the other end. Not really sure what to make of tonight; we looked completely worn down with 10 minutes left. This is really the first time all season where we simply look outmatched, and when we had good defensive possesions, the ball seemed to find a way to Michigan.
Not quite the Duke level beating from last year, but given the timing of this game, next week with a pair of Quad 3 games will be essential to "get right".
Kind of crazy that Michigan dumped in Evanston for 30 minutes. They are really dominant when they decide to play.
We may not be championship caliber, but this team should still be able to compete in the second weekend of tourney. Unfortunately, hard to see Morez have so much easy success against us and to know that he likely is the missing piece to being championship caliber.
Really hard to be at 22-7 and feel like we may have hit the low point. On to next week.

Means absolutely zero against good, tough, defensive teams. We looked like a JV team on that end tonight. And like a Jr high team on defense.

2-4 in our last 6. Getting very hard to stay positive at this point. Blown our chance at a conference championship and probably any chance at first weekend in st louis... Success in March is largely due to setting yourself up in January and February. We could have done that, but failed and it will likely bite us next month.

I blame the way Brad utilized (or under-utilized) Morez last year. Had Brad done more to keep him, imagine where the Illini might be. Morez punked us tonight. No other way to look at it. That's on Brad and I guess a little to NIL. But we had him and we lost him.
Can't blame the atmosphere for that one.
