Last year Tre White shot 50% from the field and 33% from 3. This year he is over 40% from 3. Last year against a very good Michigan team Tre had 19 points and eleven rebounds. We miss him, we miss him a lot.

Think about how dominant Z has looked defensively this season. He was unnoticeable tonight.
I think tonight just exposed The Bros are solid college players....and not NBA ones. At least not anywhere at the level of UM's 3 frontcourt NBA'ers. Just simply outclassed.

IMO 3 tweaks.
Morez went wherever he wanted tonight. Nobody slowed him down. Backed Big Z under the basket and scored in his face. Got all the rebounds. We need a strong, muscular, athletic big. Someone like Morez. You have to keep that player happy. Let Kofi, Morez, and Dainja shoot a little.

The trend over the last month is not good. The fact that there seems to be no acknowledgement of that and no real plan for change is not good
He also had about 5 mind-boggling dumb plays that cost possessions. He is an enigma.

IMO had we won the UCLA game the narratives would be a lot different. Regardless of this result.
The play at the end along with the Coleman Hawkins Penn state foul are the two worst single plays of the underwood tenure (I’d put the Tennessee play a tier below since it was tied).

If you bring them back, you have to be better at evaluating talent with the rest of the team and developing players. You also have to develop offensive and defensive strategies to fit your players.
A lot of $ would be spent on the twins and the limitations remain.
The BLOBS aggravate me so bad. Everyone else runs plays, our local 3rd grade team runs plays. We post up and lobby over the top.
You guys are giving Morez way too much credit. He is a good role player playing on a really good team with a hell of a coach. Brad should be at this point where Dusty May is right now after 2 years. Morez is a 2-3 inch taller version than Ty Rodgers. Rodgers is greatly missed this year. Illinois needs to stop recruiting European players, period.
Well obviously in hindsight you make that switch. But there was no way to know Keaton was going to be first team all BIG. And there was also no way to know the guy who does everything Tre does with the exception of spacing the floor and is by all accounts the consummate teammate would tear up his knee playing pickup ball.
I think the plan was we needed an alpha scorer to pair next to our new starting PG Petro. Andrej fit that bill the best.

The one play in the first half that was a precursor for the beatdown was when we had great ball movement and Boswell faked a wide open 3 and passed into a shot clock violation. After that Morez hit a 3. Went from what could have been a tie game to a 6 point deficit. That was the point where I knew it would be uphill battle.

Kendall Gill made these same observations during the postgame show, and capped it off by saying if we keep faltering down the stretch, we could conceivably drop to a 6 seed.
I think sometimes we get basketball twisted, basketball really comes down to toughness and shot making.
If you don't have the toughness then nothing else matters. You can make shots but if you can't defend your basket then you get exposed.
