Fears should lock up BIG player of the year IMO. The only thing that’ll stop him is some of the other narratives. He’s been the best player in the league.

Somebody posted the following 5-loss tiebreaker scenarios on here yesterday:

Illinois, Purdue, Nebraska = 2 seed for IL
Illinois, MSU, Purdue = 3 seed for IL
Illinois, MSU, Nebraska = 4 seed for IL
Illinois, MSU, Purdue, Nebraska = 4 seed for IL

We’re basically locked in to the 4 with how the games went today

So if Michigan St. somehow beats Michigan and Nebraska and Illinois are the only 2 teams that are tied, who wins that tie-break?

If we are the 4 and Purdue the 5, I hate that bracket lol. Then we have to beat Purdue and then Michigan. I think we can do the first again, but no chance we do the second thing.

Nebraska. They go down the pecking order through the standings — neither team beat Michigan; Nebraska beat Michigan State, we didn’t.
So if we win out, best/worst case scenario is a 4 seed?

The game vs. Purdue on BTT Friday QF will be a dog fight. Winner gets a 3 seed. Loser becomes a 4 seed.

MSU will likely move up to a higher 3 seed as of Monday bracketology.

Nebraska. Because we both lost to Michigan, and they beat the next highest team--MSU. The only hope of getting off the 4 seed line is 2 losses by Nebraska or MSU. We will play the winner of the Wisconsin at Purdue game.

That UCLA game really left us with a tough draw. Likely Purdue in the quarters and Michigan in the semis.

OKay.... so yeah.... it looks like the best case scenarios for the BTT, assuming everything else goes the way you'd expect, are that either Mich St. loses out or Nebraska loses out or.... and I don't like this one, but if you're looking at purely the BTT... Illinois losing out.

Blundering the UCLA game looks like we’ll be the #4 seed in BTT rather than #2 seed. Slight difference is playing Purdue in first game and then Michigan on Saturday assuming we win Friday. #2 seed path would have been UCLA first game and Nebraska second game. Rather big swing in opponent difficulty.

Absolutely massive. Win that UCLA game and you've pretty much locked up a BTT #2 seed, a NCAA #2 seed and a legit opportunity to make a run in the BTT... Now we could get bounced in the first game against Purdue and lose the #2 seed for the NCAA.

I think it’s more likely UCLA beats Nebraska. Only one team in 2 years has swept the LA series. Plus, the game will be played at 10pm, which is very unfortunate for Nebby.

If UCLA wins, we’ll go into the final day as big time Iowa fans to get out of that 4 spot.

Wow ok. I guess we might as well not even watch then since we already know the results and that you hate it.

Yup, that’s the cost of dropping the home Wisky and UCLA away games. Had outright 2nd place in our grasp. And a more secure path to the 2 seed. But that’s why you play the games.

The team lacks a mental edge that you can’t coach. When we’re punched in the face (literally) don’t have the proverbial dog in them to claw back. You see it with MSU who are in no way more talented than us.
