Wisconsin having a big 1st half. Dozen 3's in the half. Have gone to the locker room leading 52-47

Lots of people love this stuff, Seth??? Really? I haven't seen anything other than broad condemnation of their actions. Not a good look at all for a program wanting recognition and respect.

I will say this… the collective college basketball brain trust must think Jeffrey Anderson is a pretty good ref because the dude is literally EVERYWHERE, reffing big time games. 🤷🏼‍♂️

LIU defeats Wagner 64-56 to clinch the automatic bid from the NEC. It is the Sharks' 8th tournament appearance, their first since 2018 when the school was then known as LIU Brooklyn.

I’m just curious, what will be the opinion of the “Miami sucks” gang on this board if Miami beats some meh 5 or 6 seed P4 team in the first round?

I’ve watched a lot of their games this year. They move the ball well and can really shoot. They are also kinda slow, bad defensively, rather unathletic and a bunch of skinny dudes who may well get abused by P4 athletes… but, with the way they shoot, they can knock a lot of teams off on the right night (i.e. Oakland v Kentucky a few years ago).
I can't speak for everyone, but I will happily eat crow. That said, I don't feel as strongly one way or the other about them (unlike seemingly many on this board, haha).

- I think it'd be more fun to have them in the tournament than some garbage P4 team like Indiana or Auburn (especially Auburn)
- I absolutely think either Indiana or Auburn would beat them 8 out of 10 times.
- While I love metrics as a judge of a team's strength, I do think that at some point winning games has to mean something.

Just one man's opinion.

I hate both these teams and relish the opportunity to beat Purdue again or avenge our loss to Wisky. Also, that Wisconsin patch above the names is awful, way too big. Wisconsin has always had the ugliest uniforms with Adidas and UA.

I have a problem with mediocre/lousy Big 10/Big 12/SEC teams like Indiana making the tournament, especially when they have weak non conference schedules. You have to fill out the at large team so give it to a team like Miami of Ohio that did something only a few teams have done in the past 50 years.

Already been said more than a few times that if they “do what only a few teams have done in the past 50 years” and go in to selection Sunday undefeated, they’re in by auto bid anyway, thus making this whole discussion meaningless. People are arguing against the impossible: if Miami OH is undefeated going into selection Sunday, it means they’ve won their conf tournament, so of course they make it in that scenario. Nobody is saying they won’t.

Fine to have a problem with it. They’ve already done “what only a few teams have done in the last 50 years” by going undefeated throughout the regular season

Okay, so in this other case unless they win their conf tournament they’re still not a shoo-in due to their poor profile/resume. It’s just facts. Is it right? I don’t know. People are arguing “interesting team/story” vs putting the best teams in, and Miami OH is objectively not as good of a basketball team as Indiana.

I think it’s a little disingenuous to hammer a team for “not playing anyone” when it’s pretty well documented that several P4 teams and other good majors refused to play them in HOME buy games 🤷🏼‍♂️

Is that why he’s everywhere or is it just he’s willing to do 7 games a week because he’s trying to bank as much cash as he can?
