St Louis Cardinals 2026

the last thing this team needs right now is a change in who the manager is...........Marmol has done a very good job managing the Cardinals with what he's had to work with.................he seems to be a player's type manager and that is important in this full rebuild and reset.................

yes , he has done an admirable job managing the bullpen with what he's had to work with........Helsley was such a dilemma as a closer even though he had numerous saves in his Cardinal's career.....his time with the Mets left a lot to be desired as he now is with , I think , the Orioles........I wonder what his numbers will be in the future..............

I am looking forward to this year with hopes that we see some improvement from Gorman , Walker , etc .....I really really am..................
let me see that same improvement from the manager and front office.

I think Walker only has 1 option left. Is that correct? If so and he starts in StL and then gets sent down he has to pass thru waivers to come back up. If all of that is true it would be beyond stupid to not have him in Memphis and make him hit his way back to StL.

A minor league option allows a player to move down and up without having to pass through waivers. The option is not per demotion to the minor league, but per season. So it's more accurate to say Walker has one option season remaining. There is a limit to the number of 5 options used in one option season (without having to pass through waivers), so if the Cardinals exercise it any time this season, he can be moved down to AAA and back up to the majors up to 5 times without having to pass through waivers.

Got it, thanks for the clarification.

I remember a few years ago when I thought every time a player went to AAA it counted as being optioned. There were a few teams that were sending players back and forth every couple of weeks and it made me nervous. Then someone explained it was per year.

I am a DIRECTV viewer. I just got off the phone with DIRECTV. I am also located in the viewing area and watch on 671. As of today it will be a $150 charge to watch Cardinal baseball on MLB network channels 721-749. I told the agent to go ahead and add that to my account. She suggested that I wait until March 27 to do that, because things could change and the Cardinals might be back on 671. She would not elaborate any further.

I was told last night by another DIRECTV customer, who is trying to get Cardinal baseball in 2026 that DIRECTV is not offering the MLB service to new customers like me who have traditionally watched on 671 until March 24. I am hoping that means DIRECTV is still working on something for 671, which we pay a premium for already.

You can watch Cardinals.TV presented by bet365 through your preferred TV provider, including Spectrum, DirectTV, XFinity, Fubo, and more. No additional subscription is needed! Please check back soon for channel number updates. Channel number details will be available on or just before Opening Day, March 26, 2026.

So the Cardinals in house produced broadcast already has something in place for DirectTV according to the official website, so I wouldn't be too worried about it. It will probably work for you exactly like it has in years past, just with the graphics changed a little bit. The few spring training games that have been televised haven't been on any cable/ satellite providers this spring except for local St. Louis stations - only streaming through the MLB app (which has been very slick for me, for what it's worth)

They're likely still negotiating carrier fees with those TV providers (and why the "and more" part is on that website - for me patiently but not hopefully waiting for it to be included on Youtube TV), which is why they are delaying any official information about costs and such to you.

The projected starters of Pallante, Liberatore, May, Leahy, and McGreevey have a combined record of 75-81.
156 starts huh. more than i expected our rotation to have going in. i do like that we have
3-4 guys ready to step up when needed in Memphis.
