We hired him as assistant coach, he hopped on a zoom with staff and recruit an then backed out like a day later
No idea if this guy has any credibility or if this list is based on reality or not. I just thought Bobby Hurley at Butler was funny.
Fennel is interesting. Had never heard of him until he was mentioned as a potential candidate for Oregon State job. Interesting guy who got started in coaching late (early 30s I think).
Nope. McCollum paid his dues. Dude was a successful coach at Northwest MO St and Drake. Parlayed that into Iowa. Coached his tail off to get into tournament and into Sweet 16. Not even close to the son of Satan. Steven Pearl got his job from daddy with no experience.
Keaton Wagler was born the year after the McNamara Big East tournament. Please tell me there are not posters here young enough to not know who Gerry McNamara is

I think so. But I can’t remember for sure lmaoWasn’t it a zoom with Quincy Guerrier ?
We didn’t get him that time … Then we got him on the 3rd try …

He has alopecia, not a shaved head, same as Charlie. And then Virginia's Jacari White had me thinking he was a smaller Villenueva with the shaved head and head band...also too soon.
Thanks for the correction. I wasn't familiar, but it makes sense. He has alopecia, not a shaved head, same as Charlie.
Why are we not referring to the son of Satan as the Antichrist?Satan Jr was in like medical sales I think until Satan hired him …
Satan waits until the last possible minute to ensure Satan Jr got the job …
Auburn is POVERTY … Spent more than us this year and couldn’t even make the tournament …
And I was so happy to see it …![]()

Elaborate?I think there's no way Illinois would be able to land someone like Oats or Golden, period.
LOL Guess that answers the question about the guy’s credibility. Where did Fennel go?Uhhh …
Fennel & Cross just got new jobs this week …
Right and this illustrates my point about McCollum. Steven Pearl should not be on anyone's radar as a high major head coach candidate. I doubt there's anybody on this website that disagrees. Auburn got stuck with him and he failed this season. Failed. But he did beat Florida.Satan Jr was in like medical sales I think until Satan hired him …

Western Michigan.LOL Guess that answers the question about the guy’s credibility. Where did Fennel go?
Ouch. That’s a tough gig, though can’t imagine UT-Rio Grande Valley was a cakewalk.Western Michigan.
I'd like Pettiford in the portal.Satan Jr was in like medical sales I think until Satan hired him …

I'm guessing due to the associated scandal baggage. IL wouldn't want the reputation hit.Elaborate?
Our funds are limited - in order to make a coaching change we would need to buyout are current coach and some of his assistants. As well as pay for the buyout for an Oats or a Golden - we are in the low $40mm range.Elaborate?

We hired Brad from Oklahoma State. It's funny, there's a convo in this thread about hiring coaches after one season at a high major when that's exactly what we did. Brad had an impeccable record at Stephen F. Austin, including a massive upset in the tourney. Goes to OSU and turns that team around in one season, and Josh comes to grab Brad out from under T. Boone Pickens' nose. Worked out pretty well.Far more likely we’d hire someone from a mid-major school like we always have. That’s not a bad thing, and I’m sure Josh would get the best guy possible.

It's not even super clear how those mechanics work anymore. Who are the top 1, 2 guys in the current cycle?Agreed. Guy had 1 year of high major experience and has worked out great so far. We’ve never went and plucked a top name in a cycle. So when people ask why we aren’t going to do that, that’s the obvious answer.
Josh would get us a fine replacement, it’s just not going to be the top 1, 2 guys in the cycle when one or multiple blue bloods also have openings in that same cycle. Even if money is roughly equal, does North Carolina land the elite guy or does Illinois?

Anyway, let's just keep BU forever.
