Growing momentum that Billy D steps away from Bulls after this season… Would have to think Bulls kick the tires on Scheyer?

I hear Reinsdorf has done a bang-up job with that other team he ownsI really just can't say enough bad things about the Bulls
Lock her up to a nice long term contract because she is a winner who will get us to long runs in the tourney. She’s on a LOT of lists … Josh isn’t just going to let her walk though …
Last years cycle indicates things may be changing. Do you go to the place with the passionate, yet mostly reasonable, fan base, or the one with outsized expectations? Do you go to the place with the AD that has shown they stand behind their coaches and work with them, or to the one who is more beholden/malleable to the donors will?Agreed. Guy had 1 year of high major experience and has worked out great so far. We’ve never went and plucked a top name in a cycle. So when people ask why we aren’t going to do that, that’s the obvious answer.
Josh would get us a fine replacement, it’s just not going to be the top 1, 2 guys in the cycle when one or multiple blue bloods also have openings in that same cycle. Even if money is roughly equal, does North Carolina land the elite guy or does Illinois?
If memory serves me correctly, Chicago wanted Collins to replace Lou.Do you remember all the backlash because so many thought Jimmy Collins should have gotten the job? Hiring a dude who made tourney 2x in 6 years isn't a "splash hire", sorry.
That would be a drastic change from a year ago when it appeared that Golden was looking for other pastures (if I recall the banter from last year correctly).Florida working to lock Golden up for a long time …
Would make it nearly impossible for anyone to poach …
Makes sense for both parties, Golden has made it clear he prefers to do the "pursuing", not be pursued anywaysFlorida working to lock Golden up for a long time …

Anybody know if she has any sort of non-compete clause? She’s building a pretty nice resume, I would think. I think Underwood and Bielema both have some non-compete terms in their contracts. She’s on a LOT of lists … Josh isn’t just going to let her walk though …
Wonder if they'll have a clause in there for sorority house visits, team assistant, or off campus motorcycle rider policyFlorida working to lock Golden up for a long time …

that happened exactly 9 years ago & my son was a Sr there , and I texted him to tell him while he was driving back to campus from spring break in FlaWe hired Brad from Oklahoma State. It's funny, there's a convo in this thread about hiring coaches after one season at a high major when that's exactly what we did. Brad had an impeccable record at Stephen F. Austin, including a massive upset in the tourney. Goes to OSU and turns that team around in one season, and Josh comes to grab Brad out from under T. Boone Pickens' nose. Worked out pretty well.
Not really related to this year's coaching cycle, but what is the temperature of the seat of Dennis Gates?
He's obviously been more successful than Cuonzo and has had them in the tourney three times in four years, including some big wins over teams like Kansas last year and Florida this year. After his first season, it seemed like he was going to be a major thorn in our side, but since then, we've dominated them.
But the NCAA performances have been really bad, and the one year they missed the tournament is in the running for the worst power-conference season of all time.
I know he has a highly ranked class coming in, but I have to imagine he needs to win at least one tourney game, or he's gone. @Indy Illini Fan
That probably had something to do with Golden looking for younger pastures....That would be a drastic change from a year ago when it appeared that Golden was looking for other pastures (if I recall the banter from last year correctly).
I forgot to add how extremely bummed out he was with that newsthat happened exactly 9 years ago & my son was a Sr there , and I texted him to tell him while he was driving back to campus from spring break in Fla

Obviously $$$, but I struggle to understand why these recruits would come to mizzery...plenty of schools with moneyAs for Gates, some Mizzou alums/donors are grumbling. But giving at least one more year with some big rated recruits coming in. Rumor they may even extend him. In other words, no rush in changes.
