Yup. No issue with a dynasty/legacy as long as worth is independently shown and proven elsewhere.
All lovely sentiments but the OTHER problem is that suddenly we don't want to lose him as our OC.
It is a good "problem" to have when assistant coaches leave to take on head coaching positions.

OC Hamer takes the reins. He and Tyler seem to talk on the bench a lot. If DC didn't work for him, maybe OC will.
Totally agree and that all makes sense. He just strikes me as one of those guys who's going to have a really hard time stepping away even if he knows he should. And as much as I hate to admit it, what he's done at Houston is pretty remarkable.

I mean it is in a sense, but it is also a bad problem if suddenly our offense doesn't work as well. Assistant coaches who routinely mastermind offenses that are among the best in the nation (and with vastly different groups of players too) don't just grow on trees. It's good for him in the long run and good for us in the long run if he eventually wants to be the HC here. But make no mistake, it would be tough to replace his contribution in the short run.
In that case, I think he (Tyler) has to:

C. An apprenticeship training where he gets the chance, over many years, to prove he can actually do all aspects of the HC job.
