My grandmother raised me and is THE reason I'm a sports and Illini fan(as well as the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks, but the Illini were her favorite out of all of them). We called her Mamey. She died on my birthday in 2021 from cancer. I never get that emotional, but I'm really emotional and teary-eyed right now. She would've LOVED this! I love you, Mamey! This is for you. ❤️🟧🟦
Amazing how the love of sports can mean so much. I’m not a Cubs fan but got to enjoy their World Series win with my mom before she passed. Her excitement was infectious. Rest in peace to all of our departed Mamey’s! 🙏

It feels kind of surreal that they actually did it. This is not the dominant team from 2005 but this is a team we knew had the potential to make it to the Final Four if they put it all together. It feels like that Wisconsin OT loss in the BIG Tournament and that players only meeting at Boswell's apartment maybe got them re-focused. I will take that loss if it meant a re-focused energy straight to the Final Four!

OMG, shedding tears hearing Brad's answer in the press conf about Illinois being his dream job and his wife buying 2 yr old Tyler a Brian Cook jersey. his answer was so humble, so genuine and giving credit to everyone else! Go BU!!!

My favorite part of the game was how we were the more poised team in crunch time.

Huge shotmaking from Tomi down the stretch. Still hope we regain our touch from 3, we'll need it!
Andrej = MVP
That layup he made late off the lob from Keaton was not as easy as it looked. He was pretty under the basket and it took remarkable composure to gather himself and go up with it. Just very impressive shotmaking from him all game.
