Last time Ty played basketball, he was a starter for an Elite Eight team. I guess that season went terribly wrong
LOL nice try. Ty would not start for this team and he won't start next season. You gonna start him over Mirk? LMAOOOOO

We got a lot of big time recruits from 2009-2016.

It's those first five Weber classes that stick out like a sore thumb from Henson to present.

These post have been taking me back to that terrible snowy night in February of 2007 when the accident happened. I always think of how good Brian and that team could have been. Jamar, Rich, Brian and Brian, Shawn Chester…

Nothing is set in stone, but looking at 26-27:
Portal G (Will spend a lot of money here)
QC
Andrej (Will pivot if he goes, but feel better about him coming back as of now)
Mirkovic
Tomislav

Bench of:
Portal 4 (Humrichous replacement, could see them adding an athlete)
Z
Jake
Euro/Portal add (thinking a 2/3)
Morillo
Ty if he sticks around

Maybe one more developmental/bench add. A lot to play out, but should be an awesome roster again next year.
What is QC

Need 8 for the rotation and have some choices assuming we will retain our eligible players.
Andre
Mirk
Tomi
Z
Jake
Coleman
Morillo
Ty
Bilic
Jaks
(Don’t see Petro in the mix)
If we add he needs to be better than at least four of these guys. I would be happy to start the season as is. We have size, shooting, passing and defense potential. Don’t see the need for a Petro type pg with our offensive scheme and talented passers.

I don’t get this one. Someone smarter than me please make the connection.
Lebron is taking his talents to illinois to become the oldest player in college. Has 4 years of eligibility.

We lost our identity, play loose and see what happens.
If we play the same we'll go down by10+ and get crappy complements in the post game.

Play loose and see what happens. Ben & Jake do your job, and Kylan hit that step in.

Love Ty … No one wants that kid back on the court more than me but he hasn’t played competitive HM basketball in 2 years …

He ain’t starting on next years team …
Ty comes in off the bench as our defensive stopper, IMO

or the 2 year layoff is just too tough to overcome, hope it's the former

Can we all start passing the hat and collect $5 million to have Wagler play one more year for the beloved?
Serious question: what makes you think 5 million should do the trick?

As it currently stands, his draft floor is no less than 7 … and could be as high as 5 (disclaimer: this is not my evaluation; but from what’s been said from people who know).

The #5 pick last season:

9.07M 1st year salary; 41.21M total

The #6 pick last season:

8.24M 1st year salary; 37.45M total

The #7 pick last season:

7.52M 1st year salary; 34.19M total

You’d have to go all the way down to the 14th pick for a 1st year salary of less than 5M (keep in mind this was LAST year).

Plus, with each proceeding year, you increase age, injury risk, and delay that second contract. All those factors will hurt him in the long run.

So, in what world does it logically make sense for him to come back?

Wow, this blows my mind, having somehow never seen this photo of John Scheyer in an Illini shirt before. And then I started to think about our recruiting from 2005 to 2016... ugh. And THEN I remembered we are playing in the Final Four in a few hours.

I’m surprised Scheyer was dressed in Illini gear. He was a Duke fan forever and I think we only even got a courtesy look bc his coach was Bruce’s brother

Would like to see him get stronger, but understand the situation
