Many thoughts/angles to look at this. Purely from a game perspective, pretty much in it until the end despite a slow start, turnovers, being taken out of rhythm. Hurley's antics stink but FWIW, his actions and game-planning are absolutely pure. Give him a week to plan for an opponent and you see what happens. This is something I'd like to see our staff do. For a long, long time one of my gripes with BU was the lack of adjustments and X and O's. I will say I saw more adjustments this year than previous years so it's definitely possible. Tonight, I wish we would have moved away from the high ball screen with Keaton, just to give a different look. Hurley and co were clearly ready for that. I could go on and on with all the thoughts, but no point in that.
From a season-perspective, this team defied a lot of things we have seen in BU-led teams. They had their peaks and valleys but they stuck together and figured it out. This is what I'm most proud of. We never know what's happening in these kid's lives or behind the scenes. Absolute masterclass mix of veterans and everyone buying in. Also want to say whatever happens with AS, I'm extremely proud of that kid. I hope he comes back but if he doesn't and goes elsewhere, I cannot blame him. He got a lot of crap from the board and our fanbase but he responded a lot better than many of us would put in a situation like that. We couldn't have done it without him. I'm going to miss rooting for this team and seeing the way they handle themselves as men. I loved seeing how this team competed and fought with integrity and respect. They represented the orange and blue with absolute class and will love them for it. Big shout out to #3. With all the hate he got last year, he was a leader and upped his game in every way.
