Will Riley with 31 pts, 5 , and 5

That's 5 steals not assists.
He is going to average 25 pt per game soon enough. A 6'9" Kyrie Irving.

Its crazy to think about someone who is 6-8/6-9 but it seems like he wasnt even done going through puberty when he was here. His physical growth along with his high skill ceiling has turned him into a force.
I think we’ll see similar physical maturity from Wagler. I think he can add 20 pounds and not lose what makes him so good.

Keaton with a year or two of a NBA sports performance program is scary.

Keaton needs to be drafted by a team that doesn't run and gun. He is not explosive or speedy. Very cool headed.

This thread is the only way I track the NBA, so when I saw the ridiculous numbers Will is putting up, I checked the ROY odds. I was surprised Will wasn't even listed. Is this an exceptionally strong rookie class?

For some reason they kept sending him to the G League (Where he was getting buckets as well).

Now that he's settled in, they see the vision. Apparently he's also grown to 6'10 so now you see them starting to say he's their best prospect overall even over Sarr.

He keeps creeping his scoring average up towards double digits. It’s at 8.6/game now.

He’ll need to average 15.6 a game the rest of the way to make it 10 for the year. It’ll be close. That would be quite an accomplishment for a kid who started the season as a 19-year-old developmental project.

Well, it didn’t end up being all that close a call. That 31 point outburst put him at.a 10.0 pts/game average with 5 games left to go.

The Flagg (Mavs)/Kneuppel (Charlotte) duo from Duke are going to run away with first and second places respectively in the ROY ballot.

If Will had done what he’s been doing over the last 30-40 games all season, he’d be battling Edgecombe (6ers) from Baylor for third or fourth.

ETA - To put things into perspective, Flagg is 10 months younger than Will. Just turned 19 in December, and he’s averaging 20-6-4. The same night Will scored 31, Flagg became the youngest player ever to score 50 in a game.

After watching Cooper put up 51 friday & 45 last night he is something special. You can't fully understand what he does until you see him in person close up.

I wouldn't count out Will hitting 50 before this season is out. Or at least 40.

Brad screwed up with Podz. He is playing like he did his first 2 years in the NBA. I have personally said it enough times, and don't feel the need to keep bringing it up.

Not many Illini off that team playing in the NBA, but Podz is.

Huge blunder by Brad. BTW, how many points a game in the NBA does the best cop from Peoria have? Podz should have been playing 20 minutes a game. But it’s old news now.

They are in full tank commander mode. They won once in March (over fellow tankers in Utah).

i'm not sure he would be getting the same opportunities on a team trying to win. Hope he keeps showing out and has a significant role next year.
