Chicago Cubs 2026

Did anyone else notice that during Matt Shaw's at bat in the 9th inning last night he hit a foul ball in the stands down the right field line. A large person with a glove tried to catch the ball and his/her pants (and underwear) came completely down when they fell over. JD said "Is everything all right down there?" and the booth went completely silent for 30 seconds.
It was the funniest thing I ever saw in my life. You've got to love baseball.
I still have it on my DVR but afraid to show it here. It's also on YouTube.
I saw it on social media .

kind of a fairly overweight dude , wearing sweat pants & probably loose boxers , both of which fell down and exposed his complete butt .

it was funny

Cubs have played a bunch of mediocre teams and can't get to .500.

Only 4 teams in the NL below .500, and the Cubs are one of them.

Last place in the NL Central.

I have already spent money on tickets.

Quiz: One team had 13 baserunners and one had 4. Who won?
Answer: The team whose bullpen doesn't suck. Not the one who was 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position.
Your takeaway from today was 2 runs let up by the pen? Even if the pen lets up nothing, it's still 0-0. Guys like Busch, PCA and Swanson aren't doing their jobs. Busch is in and 0-30 stretch and is hitting 2nd. Neither he, nor PCA can hit left handed pitching. The two of them alone left 10 on(PCA 6 and Busch 4). That's 2 and 6 in your order.

This offense is right where it was the second half of last year. Its just bad.

Bullpen isn't isolated to today. Accentuated by the fact that Shota had a no-hitter in the 6 innings he worked. If my memory serves me right, except for opening day when Boyd was no good, the bullpen has imploded in every loss. Except for Palencia, look at their ERA's.
I did mention that we were 0 for 8 with RISP and understand that you can't win if you can't score.

They’ve had bad luck with former Astros relievers.

There's just kinda no juice with this team, it feels like they took the Cade Horton news as badly as the rest of us did.
