PUKE!!!Scheyer will end up just as, if not more successful as K when it's all said and done.
Elite coach, elite program.
You really don’t think so?Come on dude. This is just....come on. He won't get to 1/4 of what Coach K accomplished. Not a snowballs chance in Phoenix in July.
even the most talented 18 year olds struggle to beat talented 23 year olds.Looks like we have another dookie infiltrator again
Bingo. Their signing of Blackwell might mark a new era that's even more dominant if they do it righteven the most talented 18 year olds struggle to beat talented 23 year olds.

Coach K made 13 final fours in 42 years. That’s one final four every 3.2 years. Jon has coached at Duke for 4 years and has one final four (nearly two, of course). He’s 38 years old. Coach K retired at 75. If Jon retired at the same age, that would be 41 years of coaching. Could Jon not get to 3 more fours in the next 36 years? He’s made the E8 or better the past 3 years in a row with a final KenPom rating of 7, 1, and 3.
Definitely think it's possible with JS should he want to coach and coach in the college game that long. You really don’t think so?

I agree with all of this. He knocked down a decent number of threes, but always seemed hesitant to launch one even when he had an open look. Tentative I guess you would say. If he can gain confidence in that shot and be bold about putting it up, he could be a complete player. If he improves his outside shot just a little bit and sees the floor a bit better, it is not hard to envision him as a 1st round pick next season. He is a good athlete, fantastic driver/create own shot, and a plus defender already.
I think there's going to be an ever hotter seat if he's not in the championship game this year or next. Elite resources come with elite demands. You really don’t think so?

He’s averages 31 wins a year in his four years. He’s 38 years old. If he coaches as long as K did he’ll be right up there.Come on dude. This is just....come on. He won't get to 1/4 of what Coach K accomplished. Not a snowballs chance in Phoenix in July.
Scheyer won’t be at Duke very long.Scheyer will end up just as, if not more successful as K when it's all said and done.

I think what Scheyer will struggle to replicate, for a variety of reasons, is the iconic all-timer nature of Coach K's 91-92 and 2001 teams. I don't know if the sport mints legends that way anymore. You really don’t think so?

Mirk is an total mad man and I'm absolutely here for it! Such a fun dude.
LOL Mirk is hilarious.
No comparison. I hate Duke but have to admit coach K is one of the best coaches ever. He built that program and system from the ground up and turned Duke into a machine that you could never count out of the national championship. Scheyer was just handed the keys and given the instructions on how to maintain this well oiled machine. All he has to do is keep it running. Biggest challenge for him has been keeping the top players coming there which he has done. Also an after affect from coach K and the reputation he built at Duke. You really don’t think so?

We are undefeated at their place. No need to ruin a good thing. Home and homes seem to be fading away anyway. He's doing an unusually good job at the impossible college sports task of replacing a legend though, I'll say that. They will be right in the mix again next year.
We should push for a home-and-home with them, I bet Scheyer would be into it, and we've had some great battles over the years in the dearly departed B1G-ACC Challenge.
I just did personal math. If that scenario plays out, I will be 90 in 36 years. I might not be alive anymore. In 36 years. I need to take a Geritol and lay down. You really don’t think so?

In regard to the ACC they have won both the regular season and Conference Tournaments in back to back years. So while the ACC is a middling power 5 conference, they have taken care of business there. It really is.
It was already an elite brand with elite infrastructure and a top 3 national budget.
So 15 future NBA players (including 4 top 5 picks) & his choice of transfers came with a LOT of help to acquire.
The ACC is middling at best and it's wild that with all that talent & those advantages he can't even get 4th place.
Yep, see BYU of this year as a good exampleIn regard to the ACC they have won both the regular season and Conference Tournaments in back to back years. So while the ACC is a middling power 5 conference, they have taken care of business there.
The draft picks are great, but most of them were "one and done". We are seeing more and more that experience matters in March. Teams built around freshman Alphas are not getting it done.
The last team to win a National Championship whose best player was a freshman was Duke in 2015.
I assume that's a big reason why they prioritized Blackwell. Having the most NBA talent doesn't win championships. Having the best college basketball players does.

That's kind of like saying Gonzaga has taken care of business. They have, but it's not the same accomplishment it was when the ACC was THE basketball conference. In regard to the ACC they have won both the regular season and Conference Tournaments in back to back years.
