I believe they are a better team if they could figure out a way to integrate TSJ with Ant on the court together.
The idea that they must be mutually exclusive players on the court is sign of a weak coach (or at least "not creative") IMO.

Your years are mixed up. It's $2.8M next year, then a $5M team option for 27-28, and then he's a restricted free agent after that, so the T'Wolves can match any offer.
But yeah, whether in Minnesota or elsewhere, TSJ's gonna be seeing more of the floor next year.
Btw anybody else a little wrong-footed by him being called "TJ" now? I know he was usually referred to that way by Brad and others within the team, but the announcers never said it.
How do you integrate two guys who both need the ball in their hand as much as possible? There's only one ball. What role do you envision for TSJ as a supporting player to Ant?
I do think he gets more opportunities in Minn going forward but I'm skeptical he'll have the kind of role he'd excel in.

I still wouldn't trade for Tre, a small guard who doesn't shoot well. Rather keep TSJ in this case.
They don't really have to worry that much if they make TSJ the 6th man.

Advanced stats really really like Tre Jones, and he's an okay enough shooter to not harm the other things he can provide to an offense.
He's not totally dissimilar to the kind of player Mike Conley once was.
Two years remaining at $8M per is a fine asset regardless, one that the Bulls absolutely need to auction off to the highest bidder this offseason.

Conley was a way better 3pt shooter and still am. Personally I prefer floor spacing and that's not Tre's strength. Tre to me better serves as a backup PG. Between TSJ and Tre on the bench, I choose TSJ 7 days out of a week. Plus, I would sign Conley back as the backup PG.

Conley was an outstanding, underrated player for a long time, but it wouldn't surprise me if he retires.
The trouble you run into with TSJ is playing him and Ant at the same time, as we have seen so far in his career. As soon as Ant misses time, TSJ explodes to life.
Whereas Ayo can play alongside Ant and be a facilitator for him and others, while also being a go-to scorer for the bench unit.
But hey, one hopes we're about to get a test drive of Ant, Ayo and TSJ playing together. Maybe I'm wrong, let's see how it goes.
I do not disagree what you said here. I wrote that Ayo would take minutes away from TSJ when the trade happened. I don't mind trading TSJ but simply don't think Tre is the answer and don't think Tim Connley is dumb enough to trade them one for one.

I dont know ...but Atkinson at Cleveland and Redick at LA have similar ×2 ball dominant players....they have figured it out.
I always thought of TSJ as a pace changer "fast"... perhaps let Rudy just outlet to TSJ to blow down the court for a dunk or a foul...I think that would be very productive off bench...especially when you are trying to wear down teams.
I don't actually think this is true.The Lakers have not "figured it out." LeBron and Doncic haven't really gelled in a way that makes them the world beaters you'd expect on paper and the team's efficiency scores are actually better when Luka is on the court without LeBron. I think the Lakers move on from LeBron this offseason and build around Luka and end up a better team as a result.
And the fundamental difference is that Luka, LeBron, Harden, and Mitchell are all capable and eager distributors of the ball, while Ant and TSJ are not. Just look at the assist numbers - they are night and day.
How many times a game is that going to happen? That's not really the path to a bigger role.
It's possible. Boston is a good example But if Ayo back，TSJ will most likely go from the bench. So you put the ball in his hand when Antman needs rest. The role is limited but he will be ok as long as the staff has his manual. I don't mind them trading him, either.
