These guys surpassed the rally squirrel!
I hope these guys are gone for good. And it was way more people than "these guys." I got sick and tired of hearing this monotonous drone; it sounded like a Euro soccer league crowd. How'd you like to be the man and his son who spent big $$ for tickets and ended up right beside this? I don't know why people are raving about this crap.

Walker now batting .308 with 13 hrs. and 34 rbi. The bad part is strikeouts--52. As good as he's been, he's still a work in progress. The NL Central is the only division with all 5 teams above .500. Some divisions (NL East for instance) have only one team over. Would really like to see us sweep the Royals today--would put us 10 games over and 3 games above .500 at home. Go Cards!

What was the deal with Herrera not scoring on the wild throw to third that went into the outfield?

I was at the game, so I didn't see/hear what was said on the broadcasts.

Thanks!

On the broadcast, I think it was chalked up to Witt dekeing Herrera into thinking he had the ball and by the time Herrera started paying attention to the 3rd base coach it was too late.

Heard an interesting comp for JJ by one of the hosts on KTRS tonight. He compared JJ to Chase Utley. Obviously he's not talking currently but more as his ceiling. He argued that JJ is a foundational piece. He doesn't excel at one particular area over others but he's really good at everything.

{ 28-19 }

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!..........

The Comeback Cardinals do it again with a walk off 3 run HR by Herrera in the bottom of the 10th to beat the Pirates in the opener of this 3 game series by the score of 9-6.......

4 smashed taters by the Cardinals............

I finally got through to MLB and got signed up for Cardinals.TV ......What a first game to watch........it really really was..........

Loss to Pirates last night puts every team in the NL Central above .500. The only division in MLB that can make that claim.

As soon as they talk about how good May is doing....bang bang bang. He's out of the game

The Cardinals will promote second baseman/outfielder Bryan Torres for their weekend series in Cincinnati, reports former big leaguer Carlos Baerga. Jeff Jones of The Belleville News-Democrat reports that outfielder Nathan Church will land on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Church was scratched from this afternoon’s lineup with an undisclosed issue and will miss at least the next week and a half.
Baseball America ranked Torres the #27 prospect in the St. Louis system over the offseason. They credit him with an above-average hit tool and average speed. Torres has minimal power but offers a bit of defensive flexibility and an OBP-oriented skillset off the bench. He’s out to an even better start in Memphis this year, running a .336/.454/.477 slash with more walks than strikeouts in 166 trips. He very rarely chases off the plate and makes a lot of contact, and he’s 10-12 in stolen base tries.

Imagine a hitter that doesn't chase pitchers. Oh be still my heart.

From Bernie-
— Cards at Reds, and which bullpen will burn first? I know that the STL bullpen firemen make us nervous these days because of Riley O’Brien’s severe vulnerability and a shortage of trustworthy relievers. But my dear peoples, we ain’t got nothing on Reds fans in agonizing over bullpens. This month, after losing closer Emilio Pagan, Cincinnati’s relief personnel have an MLB-worst 7.17 ERA in May. The inCINerated bullpen has been vaporized for 17 homers, 32 total extra-base hits and a .512 slugging percentage in 71 and ⅓ innings. Their Red-reliever walk rate for the month is an astonishing 15 percent. And y’all are picking on poor Matt Svanson? Y’all think Ryne Stanek is an arsonist? Please.

Sounds like it will be an interesting weekend. Rain out today. Two tomorrow and 1 on Sunday.

Torres began this year in Class AAA, where he hit .336 with a .454 on-base percentage and a .931 OPS in 36 games for Memphis.

He hit his way to a Texas League batting title and has continued to hit his way through the minors. Across three minor league seasons within the Cardinals’ system, Torres has produced a .330 batting average.

Just missed a for sure two bagger, maybe 3. What a defensive play.
