Did the stuff he had to clean up prevent him from going elsewhere prior to this? I only vaguely recall him being discussed. What other programs were seriously interested?

Could never see a minute in an Illinois uniform but at least he'd still provide the added value of shutting down the ninth man conversations..

Now it's time to start freaking out about the 10th man

USC has a better roster than Illinois and likely the best roster in the big ten. Doesn’t mean they’ll finish ahead of us, but fair to point it out.

I don't agree that they have a better roster but I suppose I could grant it being arguable.

But given how obviously that situation resembles others we've seen at Kentucky or Indiana where huge money was spent on a collection of big name individuals who don't really add up, masterminded by a coach who generates little faith in figuring it out, I just do not understand the hype for them one bit.

Obviously what happens in practice will be the determiner, but I still think Zens is the likeliest 9th man.

However their starting 5 is significantly closer to our starting 5, than our depth is to their depth.

This is an absurd take.

If Illinois had gotten Andrej, Tomislav, Mirkovic, Jake, and Z in the portal this year, you would not be saying this.

I'm honestly kind of uncomfortable with how much I'm rooting for Purdue next year. They are the true spirit of college basketball, and the way that experiment goes positive or negative will serve as a lesson to everyone else.

I want the nation, Brad included, to see that development and cultural continuity works.

I'm honestly kind of uncomfortable with how much I'm rooting for Purdue next year. They are the true spirit of college basketball, and the way that experiment goes positive or negative will serve as a lesson to everyone else.

As much as I despise Izzo on game day......he's recruit and develop within guy as well. It does still work.
