Pretty sure Olano was an All American. Think he kicked a 50 yarder in the All American game(??). He was also recruited by some heavy hitters.

My guess is that the two don't compare favorably, but at that position, it really doesn't matter. There aren't a ton of measurables outside of leg strength and that will change over time. If his leg strength is good(not necessarily great) and he's accurate....... that'll do. Can't have guys missing 5 yards left/right on a 45 yard kick or with a wind in your face. If you have leg from 52+......huge bonus.
Chris Sailer Kicking had Olano ranked #3 in their national rankings. They have Morales ranked #7. Pretty comparable with slight edge to Olano.

He’s done a great job. What’s funny is South Carolina fans tried to say he couldn’t recruit. If we get Knowles this will be a very good recruiting class for the offense
Beamer moved him to TE coach to make room for James Coley, who then bolted for Georgia. If that isn't top tier staff management, I don't know what is

Maybe the deal that sealed it was older brother can get a nice NIL deal to be the backup to Boyd in 2027-2028.

Older brother was a sought after recruit, he sat behind Haynes king for 2
Years and lost the job to Alberto Mendoza this past spring.

Not sure you want him to start,
But would be nice to have an older guy in the room next year if Boyd is the plan.

Eureka! thank you

that's a masterstroke. dismissed the internet pundits saying Knowles is coming, but holee ship. really hoping we land him, he's a near perfect fit

Not sure I would say his brother was a sought after recruit. I could see him being brought in as a veteran back up.
Yeah, i was just looking him up and he's a big dude at 6'7. 1 pass attempt last year at GT and it was completed for 84 yards and a TD.

Perfect guy to bring in and compete with Boyd/Clayton … OR if there’s any roster movement at the QB spot … He’d be a guy that I imagine would have some interest …

FWIW - Traylor LOVED this kid …

Is it a foregone conclusion they're getting Knowles? Its supposed to be announcement time correct?

WTF is going on?

damn, Stepp is good. damn good. pulling a VVG WR out of Texas is a big deal. kudos!

Pretty easy to look at the guys he has worked with and how many have ended up in the league, especially based on their initial pedigree. Then add to it that hes a likeable dude that is good at making connections and you have the perfect storm.

no doubt, Stepp has it going on. full package: coaching, recruiting and megawatt charisma. he's going places (hopefully, with Illinois)
