Yeah, 4 years 15 million? That is hard to pass up after averaging 9 points per game in college, unless he sees himself an NBA talent, going home for set up for life money isn't a bad deal.

And the other surprisingly stayed in the draft. The Illinois example would have been Stojakovic staying in the draft and Vaks announcing he's signing a pro contract in Europe.
The lack of a spring semester portal means there's a lack of options. Cason and Dent are the best available within the (lack of) market.

Well, he doesn't have to commit immediately. If MI were a serious contender, he could just wait it out, then make a call next spring/early summer.
We're going to have plenty of money to spend, so my assumption is that if Brad really wants him, he gets him here, but who knows. I assume nothing. If MI hires TJ Otz......that wouldn't be ideal.
Why? He has no relationship with the kid throughout this recruitment.
MI has a ton of money, they just bought a championship with that money, TJ has a huge name in the industry and there's an argument that he does more with less(from a resource standpoint) every year.
I have absolutely no clue what's going to happen here. My response was to the post that Pettigrew has no clue who the coach will be next year, so that eliminates them from being a serious contender. That may or may not be true, but there's plenty of time, money and due diligence that can be done for anything to happen. Let's also remember that he doesn't have to reclass. That gives us the best chance, but we'll see where that ends up. If he reclasses, that changes the calculus completely.
I'm going to choose to believe that our insiders have this one pegged correctly. All that said, Michigan is and will always be a pain in the ***. I put nothing past that particular organization.

Saint-Supéry signed with Valencia in Spain, which was where Sergio De Larrea was playing. (25th pick in the draft) They gave him a bunch of the money freed up from De Larrea's contract.
I think a lot of us underestimate how difficult it can be to move overseas at such a young age. He gets to be in his home country, up the coast from his hometown, and still make a bunch of money. As De Larrea illustrated, if you play well, you can still get drafted. Liga ACB, where he will be playing, is widely regarded as the best domestic basketball league outside the NBA.
Gonzaga also lost another one of it's starting guards Jack Kayil, to the draft. (#39 pick->Knicks) Many were expecting him to return in early projections, so the backcourt there is a huge question mark.
