Illini Football 2026

Not sure I agree. Sure, it’s not an investment in the sense that a donor expects a monetary return, but it is an investment because donors and schools would like to get value in return for the money they’re spending. In this situation, that value is simply being a good player and contributing to winning football.

And just like any other investment, there’s opportunity cost. $1.5 million going to the freshman not playing is $1.5 million less for the starter level transfer you can no longer afford.
Seems to be a lot of speculation about a kid not playing because he is a freshman. You don't get 1.5 million as a corner back to sit on the bench. Dobson will play significant minutes as a true freshman, even if he doesn't start, which he will have a great opportunity to do!

I say this understanding there is limited control of score, game flow, etc but it’s going to be imperative that Boyd gets reps this year to provide whatever insight is possible into his 2027 starting prospects.
This is an extremely critical point/observation!!! Wholeheartedly agree! At a minimum, he should absolutely see big minutes in all of our blow-out games. And he has to be ready for those instances when Katin gets his bell rung.

I can BUY Butkus and Gradishar.
-- Spielman seems like just one of many "really good" LB's in the Big 10 over the past century.
-- I've never heard of George Webster.
-- And I never viewed Fitzgerald as "Top .1%" when watching him play in the 1990's.
agree . Fitz was good . real good . I actually respect his playing days .
but no where close to where they have him ranked

When are season tickets usually available in the app? I can't remember but I'm thinking like 2 weeks before week 1? I'm donating a couple of my season tickets to a benefit. Trying to make the process as clear as possible for the buyer.

I’m camping at Kickapoo state park… outside of Danville and Oakwood. My son told me that the Illini Offense were all here yesterday. We didn’t see them. :(

My wife and I are going to plan a trip to California around the @UCLA game. Never been to the Rose Bowl and going to start following our teams on the road more. My question is how should we buy tickets? We’d of course like to sit where other Illini fans will be. Do we buy from UCLA but if so how do we know where to sit? Can I buy from Illinois? Should we wait and buy on secondary market?

Thanks for any advice.

Ifund and season ticket holders have until 7/31 to request tickets for away games if you know someone that can buy for you. The UCLA game is $103 which is most expensive of the away games.
