Exactly. It is very flawed system; albeit a system that provides a way more even playing field than the flawed system that preceded it. I just feel that anything this bad for the SEC has got to be good; amirite?

Other than IU being better than Illinois… I see no problem.
Bowen and Beerman would be so good at LB (Unless he plays TE). Maybe another pretty good season (CFP) can change some of these guys' minds.

Would love to add Bowen, odds are no. I was looking at some measurables on the roster and noticed we have some tall LB’s and Beerman being one of them. It had me wondering/nervous, but I think with the new defense maybe being more multiple we can get some of these guys on the edge and disrupt some passing lanes. We will see what kind of speed they have. I’m not anticipating this defense to stop a lot of short yardage situations. I hope to be wrong. As long we can stay out of those situation and get TO’s, we will all be happy.
I'm sure they'll mix him up. Also, from what's been said this defense will have a healthy amount of blitzing from the LBs. They have some pieces for sure to really make some plays. The dline will attack a gap instead of holding one and it should free up lanes for the LBs. When the opposing offense makes mistakes, you'll have ballhawks and playmakers like Scott, Bailey, Hankins, Clarke, etc.

what position does he want to play and that would be my sell. Kid looks like a baller. You know the best on this one. He obviously can and will fill out more, but you think he’ll be big enough on the DE. Looks like a perfect MLB to me.

Nunez is going into 8th grade and is undecided on hs. Both are hold backs. Also both of their dads are quarterback coaches
I would guess there is a good chance both only play 3 years of HS ball, reclassify up to where they should be age wise to get the large NIL $ earlier.
Holcomb already looks like a junior or senior in high school.
Unless a salary cap is put in place or Bret changes his spending philosophy the chance of them being Illini are slim.

I don’t think they will enroll early. Kids can start making NIL in hs. Trae Taylor is already making a ton of money. Him moving to Lincoln was a very smart business decision for him and I think you’ll see stuff like that happen.

The hold backs have been going on for many years. It seems especially for QB prospects (in their parents' eyes, at least)
It has gotten a lot worse. I know of a lot of kids that were held back this year. Way more than normal. Now that money is involved it’ll only get worse.
