At what point are we going to realize /understand that a few people having most of the money is bad for the game/community/country such that they can control the outcome by spending an insignificant (to them) amount of money? Hopefully, before it no longer is a game and nobody wants to play.

We've had a great kicking program since the Lovie days. Its not like Olano was some outlier that weve never seen before and will never be able to replicate again.
CFB needs to decide if they want to follow the
NFL model and have new and different teams in the playoffs every year due to salary caps
or
MLB model where the same teams are in the playoffs every year
as is , the playing field is not level
But I would contend that it's more level than before NIL. I believe some of the top teams had robust NIL programs before NIL.
The formerly pathetic IU football won it all last year. A historically very poor Illinois football program won 19 games the past 2 seasons.
Where is the problem? I ask this of everyone/anyone.

The last 10 (or 9) teams to play for the championship, only Georgia has repeated, ending with blowing out TCU in 2023. I don't believe they have won a playoff game since.
So far, despite some teams spending crazy money, no one has dominated the playoffs.

100%. The top programs had tons of money flowing under the table. The only teams that want this model back or caps on spending are the ones who can find ways to bypass it.
College football is better and more diverse at the top due to the introduction of free market and transfer rules. We are still going to be outspent, but we were anyways. At least now we can go get guys we feel are worth the price.
In addition to Olano, I was disappointed in losing Eli Coenen. But, I think we are clearly net positive for the year.
Exactly. It is very flawed system; albeit a system that provides a way more even playing field than the flawed system that preceded it. I just feel that anything this bad for the SEC has got to be good; amirite?

Other than IU being better than Illinois… I see no problem.
Bowen and Beerman would be so good at LB (Unless he plays TE). Maybe another pretty good season (CFP) can change some of these guys' minds.

Would love to add Bowen, odds are no. I was looking at some measurables on the roster and noticed we have some tall LB’s and Beerman being one of them. It had me wondering/nervous, but I think with the new defense maybe being more multiple we can get some of these guys on the edge and disrupt some passing lanes. We will see what kind of speed they have. I’m not anticipating this defense to stop a lot of short yardage situations. I hope to be wrong. As long we can stay out of those situation and get TO’s, we will all be happy.
I'm sure they'll mix him up. Also, from what's been said this defense will have a healthy amount of blitzing from the LBs. They have some pieces for sure to really make some plays. The dline will attack a gap instead of holding one and it should free up lanes for the LBs. When the opposing offense makes mistakes, you'll have ballhawks and playmakers like Scott, Bailey, Hankins, Clarke, etc.

what position does he want to play and that would be my sell. Kid looks like a baller. You know the best on this one. He obviously can and will fill out more, but you think he’ll be big enough on the DE. Looks like a perfect MLB to me.
