That's stupid. (not saying that to you).

Our ceiling is just "Final Four" and Michigan and Michigan St's ceiling is National Championship. We are the best Big Ten team this year and our ceiling is winning the national championship.

I know I'm a homer fan, but come on
I think it makes sense.

"Ceiling" just means if everything hits their potential.

Michigan and Michigan St. have a significantly higher defensive upside. Their two-way potential is better than Illinois.

However, there's no guarantee they will reach that potential, which is why Illinios is the higher floor team (much due to their elite offense).

I see a lot of Lincoln hanging out in the corner and, once the defense forgets about him, cutting baseline for some alley oops.
He could wear out that dunkers spot. We will see what his in game shooting is like, but from the highlight clips, looks like you can't just leave him either.

You think it’s correct if we hit our ceiling we can’t win a national title?

I like to think the top 8-15 teams any given year who hit their apex potential got a chance to win an title by and large.

We honestly have very little idea what Lincoln's true shooting ability actually is (and same goes for Morillo and all of the other freshmen)

Luther Head was brought up earlier; he shot 29% from three and 56% from the free throw line as a freshman

Lincoln's form doesn't look terrible to me and the shots didn't like bounce around the rim and go in, he's hitting the back of the net (yeah its 3 shots; I'm aware of sample size! :))

I'm excited to see what these guys have this year

There is no world where, assuming Mirk comes back healthy and at his level from last season, that Illinois’ ceiling isn’t “national championship”.

I get we are Illinois fans and our default is to look for the gray cloud in a sea of silver linings. But I 100% agree with you. This team’s realistic ceiling is a national championship.

Look....just off these clips....I'm calling him an NBA prospect already. We'll see how it translates to the game this year but I think he's an instant contributor.

You know the physicality is there with the Fletch program, but being able to go up on a 7'2 athletic guy like Z is no slouch. Looks like a quick jumper+explosive. The shot looks smooth. I was just as impressed with these clips as Coleman's, which is a big deal.
Lots of talk about him needing to become a better shooter before he is a pro prospect but there is a lot to like for sure.

The first step is to make the rotation. Then provide a good 8-12 minutes a game.

Shot was looking good to me in those clips plus he's a known scorer.

I'm more encouraged that the athleticism translates and he looks to be a quick jumper as well. Rodgers was a quick jumper like that as well but Williams looks like he has even more explosive athleticism.

I'm thinking he's getting minutes this year and could be an impact piece for a team looking to win a championship. You're going to need that in some of these battles with elite teams and athletes across the country.

I'm looking forward to the football and basketball seasons big time.

#9th man.

In all honesty, I know it’s not realistic, but I wish we could see a lot of all the freshmen. I believe Coleman is going to start but I wish some of the others would be breakout players so it’s impossible to not play them.
