Chicago Cubs 2026

The young pitcher for the Sox had something like 6 walks in the 3 games (4.2 innings) he has pitched.
That makes sense. If you put him on, the pressure is there to throw strikes and that can snowball.

I imagine that Venable was thinking get PCA(left on left), walk Seiya and set up the DP, then face Busch(left on left).

I suppose neither choice was a good one.

What a great win! This offense continues to pound away. Such a deep lineup. Lets hope Pedro can continue his magic for the next month. That Dansby injury was a buzzkill coupled with the rubber match loss to the Cards.

Since July 1 we have the leading RBI man in the game in Seiya and the leading run scoring man in PCA. Seiya slashing ,293/.385/.561 and PCA with a smooth .318/.421/.686, this has been the best combo in baseball for the last 2 1/2 months and it is not even close. So many baserunners for the cubs leading the league in walks, just wears out the league over the course of a year.

Pitching still is a worry for me, but it is deeper then before and we have to sort out the bully. Its time for Cabrera to becoming a weapon in the pen along with Brown.

they will need more security spread around the bleachers tonite as most of those fans are pregaming & then drunk by 6th inning .

Most White Sox fans don't have jobs, so what else are they gonna do during the day? /s

hahaha

these cross town games do lend themselves to fan fisticuffs because the visitors don’t have to travel .

it’s unlike any other rivalry .

It's too bad that it has to be this way, but you're right. The guy who said "it's not that serious" was right. I think that cooler heads would have prevailed. Once the beer was thrown, the gloves came off. The Sox fan was triggered from the jump, tried to get up the stairs, but he could have been restrained.

Secondly, security in the bleachers can't be made up of 70 year old retirees looking for a few extra bucks. It's a booze fest and people have been pre gaming for three hours prior. If you want to hire them, that's fine, just put them in the family section or in an area closer to the field where there is legit security 10 feet away and the ticket prices are such that nobody is getting tossed.

Finally, when that big dude was catching lefts and rights.....notice how nobody got within 5 feet? They just stared like....I don't see anything.

I think the misconception is referring to Ushers as Security. Wrigley has both, but Ushers are more for fan assistance and general crowd management vs Security (and law enforcement) that should be getting involved in breaking up a fight like this. I'm guessing there will be more of the latter at the upcoming crosstown games.
