Illini in the Pros (Football)

So Tanner Arkin and Tip Reiman were NFL tight ends. You’d have never believed it when they were here but that’s pretty awesome

if you looked at it from the receiving angle, yes. but from a blocking angle, they evolved into total studs. which is why they're in the NFL

but, yeah, both their journeys have been awesome

Detroit seems to think very highly of him. Would be shocked if he doesn't end up on their PS
I would love it if the Bears traded Bagent (love him, but he needs an opportunity to try and be a starter somewhere and his value is about as high as it can be right now) and took Luke off of the waiver wire. Keenum can be the backup, give time for Luke to learn, and screw over the Lions at the same time.

How about NFL U?!?! I know we still have a long way to go to have as many as the elite programs, but I never would have thought that we'd have 22 alumni on NFL rosters. That's gotta be a recent (or potentially all time) high, right??

What a time to be alive as an Illini fan!

Not sure how to explain some of this other than accounting for lag between when a coach is active and when players he recruited actually made it and played in the NFL. Zook had some stellar recruits that made it to the NFL, and I believe most of the posters here agree that Lovie recruited some studs, and pretty much did nothing with them. Suffice it to say I love where BB has the program and the direction is headed. Data via Google . . . .

Thanks for doing this. I was hoping someone smarter and less lazy than me would put something like this together. This is exactly what I anticipated it would look like.
