Hard to tell about the offense with only 18 plays and 7-8 minutes time of possession.....but those 18 plays have resulted in to 21 points........
the area of concern so far has been the defense ......the announcers for the Illini early on were lamenting the tackling and no containment on the edges of the line of scrimmage........they were spot on and UAB has 120 + rushing yards in the first half......it's going to be a longggggggggg season if this is what to expect from this defensive scheme......it's apparent we don't have the athleticism to make many tackles for loss but could be the first game jitters or learning a new defensive scheme or we are just not good enough to stop a rushing game yet.......
please Illini , get the win and study the film tomorrow to fix the mistakes.....

I’d say Howard and the boys summed it up pretty well on the halftime show. In a word, disappointing.
D has been alarming but O has been similarly unimpressive in their lack of consistency. Flashes though, they have had some nice flashes…

I don’t think the criticism of the offense was fair though.
The 3 and out is why. Horrible calls and put a crap D in bad spot

Uhhhh OL, at some point you may want to start blocking people again.
He should be. Someone on UAB is 2yds in the backfield before he touches the ball. Same as last year. Bart Miller needs to do better with what he has.
Bright side still think this team better than Rutgers

We are trying to dominant rather than win convincingly. There is a difference. Respect the opponent like the best and don’t think you will knock them out.
The defense is a day 1 concern. Hope this gets fixed.
