Game Thread: Illinois vs UAB

[dsg]

Come on man, don't let them score.

[Ramrod2010]

I'm not going to argue that the defense looked great.

But only giving up three points in a half isn't exactly the end of the world.

But 10 points... Nope I'm out.

/s kinda

[JKR]

Pathetic

A Hail Mary, a pick 6....and 8 or 9 penalties from UAB. This game is WAY closer than any of us want to think about.

Wow, this has to be the worst home opener since……Toledo?

Gonna struggle to make a bowl this year if this is all the effort our D can muster.

[Fly Illini Fly!]

I’d much rather give up that score than what happened last year with X. Scott

[Mr. Roberts]

408 total yards allowed. 333 yards gained. Not desirable. Improvement needed.

Nice to have higher expectations!

A full commercial break with 9 seconds left in the game? Come on lol

This is the takeaway for me.

Bobby, time to get your hand/s in the dirt with your D this week young fella! Respect your accomplishments but we need these blown assignments all over the field to be over with by the time we hit the BIG schedule.

This is true, unfortunately.

I'm cranky. Good night.

[Illini in Indiana]

UGLY, but it's a W. Better learn to tackle. D1 player don't fall down with a soft shoulder hit.

It feels kinda similar to last year's defense where we'd allow them to march down the field and control the clock the main difference to this year is were doing the same but giving up bigger plays to less talented teams to start the season
