I try not to over react but this is concerning. The D is a problem, it probably can't stop Duke, let alone any other our top opponents and once the tape is watched to stop Dixon (top CBs) and Clement on the 8 yard dig or out, then what? I know game 1 to game 2 is the most adjustments but you can adjust from being smaller, slower and over powered. Hope I'm wrong.

Well we are missing our top portal wr add for this game as well were dealing with multiple injuries to our receiving corps

Burton gambled once too often and got burned. Great pressure to force a nice heads up pick 6 play by Kante. Nice second half adjustments by the Illini to win going away in the second half, despite the multiple missed tackles.

That's the key to 100% of the defenses at any and all levels of football. If you can stop the run, you make teams one dimensional. When you do that is when exotic schemes work. If you're letting up 5 yards per carry.......you're going to get blown out.

I love defensive TD's .........................D has played somewhat better this half but Corey Davis and Kevin Mitchell , former Illini players and now doing an excellent job as radio announcers keep saying the tackling or lack there of will be an emphasis tomorrow when the game film is dissected.......Brian Barnhart is the best ....he really really is............

I'm not going to argue that the defense looked great.

But only giving up three points in a half isn't exactly the end of the world.

Well I'll say this, we've gotten in the right positions with the right angles on defense a good number of times, but the inability to tackle or make 1 on 1 stops has made it look a lot worse. Need to execute.

This defense is just not even close to Big Ten level … Outside of 3-4 guys …

OSU and Oregon will beat us by 40, and a lot of other teams by 40.

If we really want to push the envelope and be optimistic, maybe UAB is going to be a formidable team down the road this year??? That is possible, I suppose. We can mold this into a we best a good football team statue. Time will tell.
