2 and 2 vs the best team in the league (record wise) is a positive outcome. The hope that they were going to go 6-1 over these last 7 games with them was a but ridiculous. 4-3 would be a nice result.

That said, the Cubs underbelly was really exposed and the defining quality that differentiates the two teams was on full display. The bullpens. Milwaukee's is phenomenal and the Cubs' has cost them, at least, 4 games(and that probably light). They had a least a 2 run lead in every game of these series and lost those games by 5 and 4 runs respectively.

Webb looks shot, Palencia looks frustrated and Zeferjohn is a roller coaster. Those three need to turn it around like....now.

I was one that bashed Bregman early in the year. I was wrong- he turned it around and has had a solid season.

Good thing I’m not Hoyer

bullpen, bullpen, bullpen...hard to see who to turn two but the three listed above are the ones that we really need. Hell give me two out of the three.

Obviously not trying to analyze Thornton as a psychologist here, but watching him pitch yesterday it felt like he was trying to rage his way through each batter. There's no finesse and when he gives up a moonshot HR it's like pouring gasoline on fiery anger on the mound.

Baseball is not a sport suited for holding onto an emotion like anger for extended periods of time. It will impact performance pitch by pitch. Hope he can find a way to adjust because all of the physical tools are there.

He looks like he could go off at any second. I really don’t want to see him in a high leverage playoff situation.

1 out. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Nico can’t bring in the run and manages to strand a runner in no-man’s land between 3rd and home.

Nico has been awful lately with his situational hitting.

Shaw comes up and closes out the inning run-less for the cubs with an embarassing strikeout.

Top heavy batting, hit-or-mess pitching, and nightmare bullpen. Looking like a 3-1 elimination to the Phillies in the WC in about a month’s time.
