Hope someone in the bullpen can do there jobNice outing by Gausman.
2 and 2 vs the best team in the league (record wise) is a positive outcome. The hope that they were going to go 6-1 over these last 7 games with them was a but ridiculous. 4-3 would be a nice result.I thought the best they could do going into Monday was a split with Milwaukee and they did that.
I’m not sure the homer off Thielbar has landed yet.2 outs at third in same inning. Thielbar and Thornton continue to suck. 6 runs on 19 baserunners but we squeeze out the win.
This would be a great time for 5 out of 6 or 7 out of 9.
Obviously not trying to analyze Thornton as a psychologist here, but watching him pitch yesterday it felt like he was trying to rage his way through each batter. There's no finesse and when he gives up a moonshot HR it's like pouring gasoline on fiery anger on the mound.2 outs at third in same inning. He looks like he could go off at any second. I really don’t want to see him in a high leverage playoff situation.Obviously not trying to analyze Thornton as a psychologist here, but watching him pitch yesterday it felt like he was trying to rage his way through each batter. Baseball is not a sport suited for holding onto an emotion like anger for extended periods of time. It will impact performance pitch by pitch. Hope he can find a way to adjust because all of the physical tools are there.
40 HRPCA might get to 40/40 by next weekend at today's rate.
I’d bring him back for the same role next year.Has worked out a little better than Willi Castro did last year.
It sure feels that way but looking at the past schedule they are 6-6.Cubs performance in game threes of series that they have a chance to sweep continues to be crappy.
