A game that was never played as poorly as you would have thought reading the forums, was never in danger of being lost, but was infuriating none-the-less.

Gotta give credit to the defense. They really adjusted and made massive improvements after that disaster of a game against Duke.

Yeah, I know SIU is an FCS team, but they're one of the best FCS teams in the nation. They made the playoffs last year. This was still a big win.

While it is a shame that we aren't heading into Columbus at 3-0, 2-1 is still much, much better than 1-2 or 0-3.

Barnett has to play. Kid runs hard AFTER contact. We do not have that if he is not on the field.

If he burns a redshirt so be it.
Well, you need to take into account the salary aspect here. The guys in front of him are getting paid much bigger bucks, so the staff will look to give them maximum opportunity.

It's just like pro sports.

much needed win ........

considering the comp level ............

better tackling ........
completely shutdown siu rushing game .....
Dixon's receiving receptions and TD's is awesome..........
Bailey's 88 yd pick-six was exciting .....
frosh Barnett opened some eyes with some hard earned rushing at the end of the game .......
Houser with 300 + passing yds.......his interception cost us a 50 + point score , but 48 is cool ..........

enjoy the victory Illini Nation .................I know I really really will ........

Obviously FCS ppponent but defense really stepped up after that long touchdown drive. Going to need to find a way to get off the field next week

Can't keep having injuries on the offensive line.

Houser has to keep getting better at going through progressions.

Defense did a much better job tackling.

Fanbase is the definition of meh.

Great observation. He's locked in on Dixon every play. SIU isn't capable of taking it away. Duke, in the second half, was. Every team we play from here on our will be able to. It's easy enough to just shade a safety over. Now, if it's a matter of none of our other receivers being able to create separation......that's a whole different problem.

Production over salaries at this point. Barnett will reap the rewards next season. Gotta play him to keep him here because I'm pretty sure other programs will see the same things we just did.

I dont think there are any redshirts anymore. Only 5 years to play 5. Besides the obvious, the leg drive and yards after contact is super impressive as a freshman. Can only imagine he's going to get a lot better. You can tell he's extremely hard to tackle so thats exciting.

The thing about it is, you have Alexis coming in next season with that same type of size at 6'0, 220+ but even more explosive with a 4.4 40. You can already imagine them running all over the B1G but I'm still interested to see them do that this year.

By the way I'm really hoping Dixon continues this pace. Another 2-3 TDs vs OSU would put the rest of the nation who is still sleep on notice. He'll be in his home state as well so should be interesting.
