Blasphemy! He had an RBI in a one-run win on the 12th and contributed in other close wins as recently as in June. I'll also have you know that he is hitting in over 11% of his at-bats this month.

Cubs are 13-17 over the past 30 games. Been a rough last month as far as making a playoff push.

Looking like weather is going to be a problem for the weekend series at Boston. Saturday and Sunday it might be hard to get games in. Last night on the tv broadcast JD mentioned they might schedule a double header for Friday. The last thing the Cubs need is to have to play a double header on Monday or something weird, that would really mess with the pitching staff before the wildcard series.

Was just looking at the splits for the three teams in Wild Card position (Cubs, Phillies, and Padres). Both the Cubs and Phillies perform near equally well at both home and away. The Padres are a significantly better home team (20 games over .500 at home with a losing record on the road).

The Padres are playing on fire recently, but it might not be the worst scenario to host them in a playoff series.

The NL is loaded this year compared to the AL.

Sundays game officially moved to a Friday double header. How many pitchers do the Cubs need to get through that? If they don't get all 3 games in due to weather and the playoffs are still underdetermined they would play Boston on Monday.
