Go Hammond Bears.
Football karma nowDid bears eagles just have their wmu/Michigan moment? Sure looked like zeros on the clock before they snapped the ball. Conspiracy!
Backup QB controversy anyone?
A brutal night for sports radio’s biggest meathead listeners
No. It looked like a clean snap with 1 second on the clock.
This happened with the final TD from Chicago, too. The clock looked like it hit 0 and then they went. The broadcast explained that the official in charge of watching for that looks at the play clock, and when it hits 0, they look at the ball. If the snap isn't eminent, they throw the flag. If it's in process, the play is allowed to go on without the flag.
Once again, the stadium and broadcast clocks were not synced.
When Rodgers was with the Packers the official would wait until the clock hit zero and look at Rodgers. If there was no snap he would check the clock again to be certain that it really said zero and then look at Rodgers again. if he still didn't snap it he might call delay of game. This happened with the final TD from Chicago, too. I had the same thought, too, until that was explained.
