No. There was no charitable component in the late 1980's when I was in Orange Crush between '86-'89. There was an interview process that had things like basketball knowledge as a component. I think seniors got better tickets as well--raised bleachers in the corner as a freshman and court seats...

Perhaps, but only 200 faculty and 50 students are a part of it--that is 5-10% of the faculty. My assumption is that those highly successful ones are not the ones that get involved with things like this.
