A few weeks back the Chicago Sun Times polled 26 college coaches on the best player in Illinois and Liddell was voted best by 24 of them. The other 2 voted him second best. This was over Dosunmu, Okoro, Miller, THT, etc. His hype is beyond just posters on this board and recruiting rankings.

I’ve always thought Jamal Crawford was the closest comparison in body type, athleticism, and ball handling.

Recruiting for 2019 picks up in about a month or so with spring AAU. We were at Liddell and Okoro’s games at the end of the year. Right now no one is playing basketball. We could fly in to see Whitney I guess and pull him out of class to chat about basketball, but the in homes and visits...

Typically when we waste resources on guys that are not coming here (see Brunson), there are other players that we should direct those resources towards. At this late in the game, who do we propose to recruit other than Ramey? It seems like we’re dedicating the proper time to Jones and Hinson...

If it takes four years then, I guess it takes four years. I’m more interested in what happens years 5, 6, 7 and beyond. We should be making the tournament consistently after our next appearance if we’ve got the right guy.

This might also be true if we got half the production we were expecting from Mark Smith.

The difference is they are shooting layups and made 6 straight to start the game.

The thing I like most about Liddell is how efficient he is. I've seen him play a ton and in the video posted you can get an idea of how he plays. There's no wasted motion in his game. He never holds the ball. He is always attacking the basket immediately, ready to shoot, or is finding the open...

I'm probably going to wait to see the games with my own two eyes before jumping to conclusions like some on here.

While most on here make fun of the "fit Underwood's system" talk, this is spot on. These two guys are athletes that can play multiple positions. Liddell especially would be a good fit as he has a polished post game and can stretch the defense out to the three point line.

Where did you get that about his AAU coach?

I'm pretty confident that Liddell and Okoro would immediately move above any of the bigs we were recruiting this year on the depth chart. That said, it's still a bummer to strike out because those two guys aren't a sure thing either. We'll need some depth up front eventually.
