Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (September 2017)

All this white knuckle stuff is the way it's going to be going forward. Going after great players is a way of life only the bluebloods live generally. To be great you have to get great players. They take all their visits and you are constantly juggling egos and committable offers. This is...

    Memorial Stadium Renovation

Well there's fans, parking, tailgating and will have more activity when the new practice facility is built. A lot of fans cross that street when touring the facilities and that would also make it easier for them. Just a thought and a way to spruce up the area more.

    Memorial Stadium Renovation

Has this ever been discussed How about a walk over bridge that could be very ornate and tied into the overall feel of the Grange Grove fencing and gate design that would connect the Stadium to the SFC parking area. It could expand the front entrance area of the south end zone.

No offense Stue but that is not the general consensus. There are rumors flying and everyone wants to be in the know but this is simply untrue. Are they a threat yes. Could it become more serious yes. But the job Walker and Groce have done, the amount of time and attention they have spent on...

    Illinois Football Recruiting Thread

If he's looking for the best combination of football and academics then it really is a no brainer with UofI Engineering and B1G football. There is no way you give the edge to Duke on this. Engineering is king at the Uof I and B1G football is second only to SEC in football. This could actually...

Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (April-June 2016)

I agree the program is in a bad place right now. Groce doesn't have the benefit of being a new coach coming in with a success story to sell. But this is a program with some history and whether Groce is a good coach with great players is still to be determined. But I am glad it is him on the...

Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (January-March 2016)

I agree with all this Newman. The only one that could drop some might be Tillman. There is always a lot of movement at the top and you have to be on your game at all times to stay there. Then there is the dreaded "Illini" curse if he commits... that could cost a few spots as well. But... I...

Your first Illini FB game you attended in person

I remember mostly the 70's. Bob Blackmon's first Spring game when he showed off the new uni's and had a kick off reverse on the first play. Mike Wells was one of the QB's I believe. I love the uni's... I also remember the late great Tab Bennett.

Josh Whitman Named 14th Illinois Athletics Director

Great hire and great day for the Orange and Blue. I really think he's a winner and will work hard to get a handle on the job at hand very quickly. I see big changes in the DIA over the next couple years. He will unite the donors, fans and supporters as well as set new standards for the main...

Thought that might get a rise out of you... love the Steve Carell gif! Just saying it would be in her best interest to get it right if she might have to live with it.

S&C, what are you more upset at... Thomas getting fired or the search itself? It seems like you are frustrated he was let go and therefore we lost our opportunity for Babers. Maybe it’s Babers, but you have been driving this thread with a consistent theme and it seems a little over the top...

    The Illinois AD Search

He is absolutely an alum. Jimmy Johns only scratches the surface of what he had done. Currently a professor at UIC I think.
