Keep in mind that the CB is a marketing tool, nothing more. Don't get sucked in.First couple of Crystal Balls for Charlie Moore go to Georgia Tech. Hmmm.....

So, who do we Crean? =P
I'm not caught up in the TJL not rated/ranked as high as Moore. When I see TJL I see a solidly built college PG, in the mold of Kiwane Garris. TJL appears to have a true PG game (passing, defending, shooting, team mangement). I think Moore is more the scorer or streak shooter. For those that say 1-2 inches doesn't make a difference, I say look at how both are built.
If Moore has a Yogi Ferrel or Tyler Ulis type game then I'm in. But I'm not yet seeing it.
Moore is more of a Ryan Boatright type. Can run the point, but is better suited as the shooting guard
I think Illinois is running a solid 4th for Moore. He seems like a Pastner, Cal or SMU type of guy.
Am I the only on here that has completely giving up on getting Tilmon? Same old story we've seen a hundred times. If he doesn't want to be a part of this then let him go. Bring on Culver!

He might be the top ranked player in the state for 2016 but right now Moore is not the best player in the state by any means. I think that's what he was getting at.
That's a pretty absolute statement. Sure you can make a pretty good case for Goodwin, but other than that no one else comes close. And there isn't much separating Moore and Goodwin IMO (having watched them both play numerous times). Moore averaged 28 points, 7 assists and 5 steals last season on a top 5 team in the state.
Goodwin>Moore and I don't think that's close IMO. I suppose I take that back as far as best players in the state right now even though I think those stats can be inflated. I realize this is a different argument, but as far as whose game is going to translate better at the next level, I'd take Goodwin, Tilmon, Damonte, Justin Smith, and maybe Eastern over Moore. That's just me though. I'm not on the Charlie Moore train.
I would be willing to wager a fair amount that none of Tilmon, Goodwin and Moore are going to come to Illinois. This program is an extremely tough sell right now. If Groce can pull any of those kids in kudos to him.

According to his list...statistically the odds are 1 in 8.What are the odds he goes to Western Kentucky??
Agree with all of this.
I'm predicting we get two of them. Two out of three ain't bad.

Just a couple of thoughts here:So Moore's top 8 are:
Cal, Illinois, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, SMU, UNLV and Western Kentucky
What's odd about that list is that it is ALMOST in alphabetical order - except for us. I think that he is giving us a clue!

I hope this is sarcasm and my meter is off...
I don't have any pipe dream of landing all 3 or anything, but this kind of negativity is what is driving me nuts about this program.
Granted we need to win to get future recruits. Maybe we can without these guys and maybe we can't. But wagering money on striking out on recruits as a fan-base, you might as well be asking for Groce to be axed.
I, for one, think we have a good chance still. Official visits and recruiting hype are exhilarating to these kids. Let them enjoy it. I would even if I knew where I wanted to go before those sweet trips to fun university campuses!
I agree the program is in a bad place right now. Groce doesn't have the benefit of being a new coach coming in with a success story to sell. But this is a program with some history and whether Groce is a good coach with great players is still to be determined. But I am glad it is him on the recruiting trail verses many of you on this board who have been ultra negative. We need him out there doing what he is doing and hopefully he gets a pay off with a couple commits. I truly believe he is not as bad a coach as he's shown lately or as good a coach as he appeared to be when he came in. But I remember many saying the same things about Henson and for that matter other head coaches who turned things around with better players and turned out great. I think we can do without all the negativity that's spewed relentlessly everyday. Everyone wants to be the guy that can say I told you so that he sucks and won't be successful but let's see how this 2017 class pans out before we put Groce in his grave. It's not the program it's the perception and perceptions can be changed. Again, this has been done many time before in many places. We are not unique and destined to basketball hell forever.
Whatever would give you the idea that that's something people want?
