Please don’t take this as me not wanting KB back, but the one thing that doesn’t get enough attention is how well JD has stepped up defensively, for this run. I was seriously concerned we couldn’t play at this level without KB’s defense.

I’m sure the short distance between the two schools comes into play too. Travel expenses are far cheaper, by bus to NW, than a flight to Ann Arbor or most other schools. I’m sure our athletic department appreciates the cost savings, as would most schools

And you want to know why we can’t expand a lead in the second half?? The officials are trying to keep these games close for viewers, and more teams in the tournament. I swear, it happens every game.

They didn’t want to get too large a lead. They know loyalty expects them to win the second half points and had to have a little incentive to play harder this second half 😉

I thought the entire game was extremely physical. No sense risking an injury, when you’re up 20 points. I think KW getting smacked in the head was enough for me to think, take it a little easier, and finish them off.

Petrovic will get more minutes to work himself into more playing time, when we get a good lead and can rest Bowswell and Wagler. They’re going to need to be fresh every game in Big Ten games.
