Last night was also SIU's first true road win over a Power 5 team since the 2000 NIT when they won in the first round of the NIT at Colorado. Their last true road win over a Power 5 team in the regular season was on December 28, 1992 when they won at Ole Miss 85-78. That 1992 team had future NBA players like Ashraf Amaya and Chris Carr and had Chris Lowery in his junior year and Paul Lusk in his sophomore year and would end up winning Arch Madness later that season as the 2 seed, defeating ISU for the tournament title.
