True, but Iowa and MI are both fighting for that final spot from the Big Ten in the NCAA tourney. Personally, I would prefer Iowa to get it.

Maryland?
Rutgers?
Penn State?
Nebraska?
Northwestern?
I've made my peace with all of them being in. However, it took me nearly a decade to accept Penn State, which itself is a decent fit for the conference. MD and Rutgers aren't, and frankly I'm old enough that I can't get used to Nebraska being in. They're forever Big 8 in my mind. The 'Cats, of course. Though I still remember the early '80s when its football and basketball programs were so consistently awful that serious talk (at least among sportswriters) arose about kicking them out of the conference.

The BT is and forever will remain core Midwest to me. PSU can slide, but Nebraska is on the Plains and we all know where Rutgers and MD are. This is the logo I remember and cherish from childhood:

Squawks hanging 57 in one half against anybody is impressive, let alone @MD.
I just tuned in and my jaw dropped. When's the last time a BT team hung nearly 60 on someone in the first half? Those are gaudy IU-in-the-mid-'70s / Flying Illini numbers.

My friends out here in Pac-12 country like to tease me about how many teams are in the Big “Ten” (like that somehow hurts my feelings 🙄).

I think all of us in the get off my lawn generation will always see teams 11-14 as interlopers…

Another bit of BT trivia: I didn't realize until ~ 10 years ago that, while everyone else joined between 1896-1912, Michigan State didn't until 1950. Basically replaced the Univ of Chicago.

Kegan Murray and Bohannon each with 30 points on 22 of 30 from the field. Hawks shooting +62% from the field. Did this Maryland team quit on Manning?

This Iowa-Maryland match resembles an NBA all-star game....plenty of shots....lots of scoring...and absolutely no one playing defense

Outrageous Clemson foul on Duke player dunking. I’ve never seen such a dangerous looking play.
A clear hit-and-run violation. If that had been done to an Illinois player, it would certainly have resulted in a concussion…
