So sick of hearing how “down” college basketball is this year, even if it’s true.

(1) People say this every single year.

(2) This season has been so fun! Upsets galore!
I think people need to realize in this era the early season might look crazy because teams are completely rebuilt each offseason. By the end of the year though, the teams and games are great.

Purdue @ Northwestern today determines if anyone has an outside shot at catching the Boilermakers. My vote wavers between "Uh, no..." and "Hell, no!" But I'll be watching and praying for the upset, just the same...

Tennessee lost on a buzzer beater to Vandy on Wednesday and they lost on a buzzer beater to Mizzou yesterday. Has that ever happened before where a team lost on true buzzer beaters back-to-back? I can’t find any information one way or the other.

OTOH if NW loses, we finish the day all alone in 3rd place, so win win or lose lose depending on your perspective.

CBS just had IU on the 2 seed line. They are playing well but they are not there yet

Really curious how their resume would translate to a 2 seed at this point? Maybe potentially, but as of today??

That's crazy. Why would anyone try to put out anything other than the bracketmatrix concensus?
About a third of their prognosticators have updated their brackets today.
Not one of them has the Loosiers as a 2 seed. Not one.
Yet CBS says "we need the story, so we'll make it up".

Man, Ohio State sucks this year.
Yeah, they are AWFUL. I will be completely beside myself if we can't get that Quad 1 win ... it's not even one of the more intimidating atmospheres in the conference, either.

I prefer NW lose today. I don't care about catching Purdue for the top spot. Top 4 is more important.
I always hold on to a fool's hope of catching them until it's mathematically too late, but you are probably right. Here are the current standings after Iowa and MSU nabbed road wins today:

1. Purdue: 12-2 (currently up 37-30 at NU)
2. Indiana: 9-5
3. Illinois: 8-5
3. Northwestern: 8-5 (currently down 30-37 vs. PUR)
4. Maryland: 8-6
4. Michigan State: 8-6
4. Rutgers: 8-6
4. Iowa: 8-6
4. Michigan: 8-6
5. Wisconsin: 6-8
6. Penn State: 5-9
7. Nebraska: 5-10
8. Ohio State: 3-11
9. Minnesota: 1-2

I will consider us fortunate to go 1-1 next week, so it would be really nice to have a full game lead on the teams chasing us. It would also make our game in Bloomington that much bigger.

Agreed Seth Davis in his top 8 had Baylor over Arizona because of their loss
