Well for sure we want Rutgers tonight. Do we not want Wisconsin next week though? Since we beat them and ended in a tie with them we get the 1 seed in the BTT.

Really we have way more important things to worry about scUM will be very tough tomorrow and Iowa to end the season is going to be a war as they are playing really well now.

A game of inbound passes, I guess! Lol. We got the first half of the help we need, folks. We now need Rutgers (who is favored) to knock off Wisconsin in Jersey, and the standings would literally look like this tomorrow...

Wisconsin: 13-5
Purdue: 13-5
Illinois: 13-5
Ohio State: 11-5
Rutgers: 11-7
Iowa: 10-7
Michigan State: 10-7
Michigan: 9-7

Holy moly, couldn't ask for a crazier end to March if that comes to fruition, and it would give us HUGE motivation to keep the momentum from the OSU almost-comeback going. This thing ain't over! LET'S GO RUTGERS!
I see you've been to the future.

What are B1G officials like in the future??

Look out for Ohio State. If they get by Maryland tomorrow, they have their final 3 games at home against Nebraska, MSU and Michigan. With Branham playing like a lottery pick it's definitely possible.

I could honestly see a 2002-style championship where quite a few teams tie. I haven't looked at all the matchups to see what is possible, but we could very realistically have four teams tied in the loss column with a week to go.

Well I like this simulation the best. We would need to win out and Wisconsin needs to beat Purdue.

Stick around and we get see a barn burner, Gonzaga vs St Mary (the school, not the woman), which reminds me:
1. Does playing 20 games in a meat grinder league like the BIG help or hurt teams going into the NCAA?
2. Next, if Gonzaga played 20 games in the BIG, would they be fresh and perky for the NCAAs or a little banged and worn?

2020 was a three-way tie, too, with the Illini a mere one game away from sharing. Since 2000, 2010 and '12 were three-way ties, too. It's rare when a team wins the conference outright by more than one game.

Yeah, if I am OSU ... I'm feeling really good about sneaking up on everyone. Purdue has a rough game at Wisconsin, Wisconsin has a tough road game AND Purdue at home, we have a road game and two deceptively tough home games (especially red-hot Iowa) and RU/Iowa/MSU/Michigan are LIKELY too far back to contend. OSU should arguably finish 4-0.

IMO only Gonzaga has proven to be a quality NCAA tournament team regardless of conference. Do I like them.....NO. But yet they win.

Haven’t crunched schedules but if UI can’t pull out solo B1G, would like to see the 4 way tie. Mainly cause it’s kinda cool, a testament to how tough the conference is, and it wouldn’t include Iowa, scUM, or Indiana in any of the glory.

Right, but the more losses PU and UW have to teams outside of the top 3-4 the better!
Well sure. But I don’t see Purdue losing at home to IU (I guess I’ve been shocked.) so I think they finish 2-0 for a final 15-5.

I would guess Wisconsin either loses at Rutgers or vs Ourdue. They go 2-1 and end up 15-5.

Ours is by far the hardest but not impossible to win at Michigan and 2 home games, going 15-5.

I don’t care what OSU does but going 4-0 is probably not statistically likely, but hey, they’d lend up 15-5.

4 way tie?

I really see it as a 3 way tie. IF Wisconsin looses tonight then either Wisconsin or Purdue have to finish with 6 losses. So, assuming tOSU goes 4-0, and hoping on a wing and a prayer we win out that would leave tOSU, Illinois and the winner or Wisconsin/Purdue tied for first. We really need Rutgers to win tonight. Wisconsin always seems to play close games and pull them out, but Rutgers looked terrible against Michigan the other day. They play so well at the RAC I think they win it. We for sure want them to win it bad.

I just ran my off-the-cuff predictions for the rest of the year on the legendary BTT seed simulator, including us winning out as I think we will, and I got these final standings (in order of BTT seed, with the regular season champs in bold):

1. Purdue (15-5)
2. Ohio State (15-5)
3. Illinois (15-5)

4. Wisconsin (14-6)
5. Rutgers (12-8)
6. Iowa (12-8)
7. Michigan State (11-9)
8. Michigan (10-10)
9. Indiana (10-10)
10. Penn State (8-12)
11. Northwestern (7-11)
12. Maryland (6-14)
13. Minnesota (4-16)
14. Nebraska (1-19)

This would have us playing the winner of Iowa and Nebraska/Northwestern in the Quarterfinals and the winner of Ohio State and MSU/PSU should we make it to the semifinals. Kind of a brutal road, but I actually don't mind the idea of a rematch with OSU and Iowa so close. Hopefully we are riding high like last year!
