2/9 Games

osu has a lot of skilled players but , to me , it's seems they lack something to make them a top contender in the B1G.....problem is I can't put my finger on what they lack ....Liddell is very good and key is underrated , but I haven't watched a lot of their games ....maybe it's just me ....usually is .......
I’d agree with the person who talked about pg play. College basketball is a guard’s game. I feel like if a team is missing something, that’s usually it.

OTOH, MD blew them out at the RAC, up by 20 in the first half and cruising comfortably to victory just two weeks ago. Baker was healthy but their D just couldn't contain Ayala and Russell on the perimeter. Since the 2nd half of the NW game in Evanston, though, gotta like the way they've played.
A week earlier, Rutgers had throttled Maryland at their place. Rutgers came into the game at Jersey Mike's Arena overconfident, thinking they could show up and win.

True, but that was a strange game in College Park. MD controlled it, led by 10 at half and then completely fell asleep for the first ten mins of the 2nd half, letting Harper go off. It looked to me more that Maryland threw it away than Rutgers did anything impressive. In the game at the RAC, though, MD dominated from ~ 5 mins in and coasted the remaining 35. Rutgers had nothing and the guards for MD went nuts from the perimeter.

I watched tOSU and Rutgers game last night. Not sure why they didn't go to Liddell down the stretch. They ran two plays for their freshman in a row. You'd think at least one of those would go to their best player. I was surprised to see multiple tOSU fans on reddit are already calling for Holtman's job. Said he's a terrible end of game coach and they just run the clock down and jack up a shot.

I guess we saw the first game differently. Maryland didn't throw away the game as much as Rutgers shut down their offense in the second half, and Harper took over. You can't say Maryland shot 43% from the floor in the first half but only 25% in the second was all Maryland's fault. Also, Rutgers cut down on the TO (12 in the first half & 4 in the second).

Maryland did control the game at the RAC from start to finish. What is unusual is Rutgers typically plays well at home but never showed up. Bottom line, any team in the B1G can win games and lose them against bottomfeeders.
