Yikes, worst day yet. This tournament, and new grass, is not working for us. As WVC says, hopefully the experience sets them up to play better down the road.

East Lake Cup starts tomorrow, Illini are defending champs. They've added a round of stroke play that will happen on Monday, then those results will be used to seed the match play starting Tuesday.

Live scoring

Golf Channel will be showing some live golf starting at 2 pm central.

Found it pretty interesting that in both the Men's and Women's brackets, the finals will be #3 against #4. Stroke play does not predict match play.

Well, the seeds aren't really too meaningful, especially when they were based on 18 holes played yesterday. On the men's side, there's very little difference between Vandy, Texas and Illinois. Oregon might be a slight step behind, but as you note, match play levels the field even more.

The women's side was a little more drastic. UW only made match play because there's only 4 teams. If this had been the NCAA's, they might not have advanced with the poor stroke play showing.

Right, Washington was outplayed by Stanford by 34 shots in stroke play on Monday, only to turn around and win 4 out of 5 matches on Tuesday. That was incredible.

Today's matches have just started, with Hardy and Yi through 2 holes. No others have finished a hole. If you are taping like I am, you might want to skip this thread for several hours.

By the way, it looks like they have shuffled the men's and women's match play, with our first match having finished 2 holes, while the first women's match is through 1 hole.
Guessing that it will go M / W / M / W and so on. That is interesting, if nothing else.

That was a lot of fun. I've been avoiding this thread since I had taped and wanted the suspense. Good matches and very good coverage for the Illinois in the Golf Channel interviews. Should make Mike Small's recruiting just a little bit easier. Nice, nice day.
