You are correct, and it's a matter of when not if

I'm sorry, but for any player that wants to transfer from Illinois to DePaul...DePaul....all I have are the infamous words of Curly Bill (wish I could post the gif):
Well.......Bye!!

he would but as of now we'll have four open scholarships for next year. if JCL leaves then we'll have five. might be difficult to fill them all. I think I'd be ok if BU thinks he fits.

When JCL leaves we will have 4

Finke
Black
Nichols
Lucas
Alstork
Frazier
Williams
Smith
Jordan
= 9

13 total spots

Alstork won't be on the team next year. So 8 returning players w/o JCL.

He plays the 2017-2018 season. 2017 is this year, but 2018 is next year.

Oh, well to me he plays this year. Next year is....next year. :D

Ahh, got it. I didn't look at it that way. I thought it was odd for you to make a mistake like that. I'm still stuck on this school year for a few more weeks. Then it will move to this (next) year! Clear as mud!

As of now, you are correct, I think we actually end up with carry over 2 when all is done, 3 with JCL gone, so even then it may make sense.

Who knows what tomorrow brings with our current staff....I like it though.

With a little reading , Agua to make his decision, for playing time we are hands down , place for him to go. SMU is really in need, but Maryland already has a few big guys, so them not so much. Us being in B1G , is another plus. The ODU thing kinda puzzles me, maybe he used a visit to see what they about. SMU folks said our grad program is better, do if that is his main objective, another plus for us. Overall, logic says we have things , PT, better acedemics, plus exposure. Not a prediction, just adding it up.:shield:

Good points. One thing I just saw, though, is an article in something called The Big Lead (don't know how legit this sports news site is) that predicts SMU in top 25 next year (24th). The article is entitled "Top 25 College Basketball Teams Post NBA Draft Decisions"

<http://thebiglead.com/2017/05/25/top-25-college-basketball-2017-2018/>

Okay, I know it is way too early to start predicting top 25 for next year but the fact is some sports news organizations are doing it and I assume that at least some players are looking at them. So, that might be a factor in Agau's decision.

Here is a million dollar question....

Is Aqau a true big or is he a heavier version of Finke...

We need a "true" big that can battle in the trenches on D but can run the floor like a 34- but is a true 5

Right. Should be easy to find all that in June.

I assume you were trying to link this article:
http://www.qconline.com/sports/coll...cle_aeb5dddd-8784-5b88-83df-858f0527507d.html

Here is the relevant quote from that article:
"Williams was not told by the new staff he was not welcome; actually, according to sources, he was starting to flourish in Underwood's system."

I do not understand this: "actually, according to sources, he (DJ Williams) was starting to flourish in Underwood's system." Is the Illini men's basketball team practicing right now? with Underwood running the practices??? Is that legal? This is the off-season. Please explain.

This may be a dumb question, but can any player come from overseas and be illegible immediately? Or are there any rules for that?

I believe that all you need is 1) be able to qualify to be admitted (test scores, academic record, etc.) and 2) never have played professional basketball of any kind.
