2017 Basketball Transfer Thread

MacIntosh might be a viable player at 6'7''/235 for a 1 year gig as a forward for the Illini if the NBA thing doesn't work out. His stats were decent last year at 12.5/5.6. Hard to believe no one would not want a 1-year scholarship as a transfer when it's there to be had. Come on down.

This would actually be a really nice fit and boost to our team. He would be no lower than 7th on the rotation, competing with Kipper and Black for the minutes at the "3" and "4". Sign me up!

Why is he leaving Oregon to begin with? And is the 2 years to play just a formality or is it going to require a very favorable decision by the NCAA?

On a side note. Watching any highlights on the Oregon court is brutal on the eyes! Headache inducing, I wonder what kind of feedback they've gotten on the design since they put it in.

Agree with your observatiion on the court. Just awful. Between the court and bill Walton doing most of the games for ESPN, Oregon was pretty hard to watch until they got the tourney unfortunately

Someone's getting. nBA tryouts will start, at least in my opinion.

McIntosh and Alstork would be a perfect fit for next year's team. With both of those players I think we would be an NCAA tourney team. Unlikely we get both though.

What's the reason word on McIntosh? Is he still feeling out the draft process?

McIntosh would no doubt be a starter. He can play the 3 or the 4 equally as well. After watching nearly every college game he has played, I think a year of Big Ten college ball would prepare him him better for the next level.

My guy is telling me he is still going through the process. Actually just had a workout with Toronto. He might consider us if he pulls out of the draft. TIFWIW. Recruiting is fluid.

The other and more important question is does he have any interest in Illinois if he doesn't stay in the draft? Has the accidental signing with an agent been resolved? Did I miss something?

Too funny no lower than 7th, he is potentially opting for the NBA, trying out for the Raptors, and he will be fighting for minutes against Kipper/Black? Where does he sign up?

To answer that important question, my guy (source) has told me he'd "probably, maybe consider Illinois." He's never steered me wrong before. My source is "solid" however if he's wrong, it's because recruiting is fluid.

My source said he is being told he signed with an agent, but doesn't think he did, so there is some question about what he did sign.

JCL... has to be. He was talking about it last week. Once you start talking about it then its just a matter of time. That's my guess.

Didn't seem like he was happy, got to want to play. Can't always have ball in your hands when you don't play defense. Would make things interesting. Still one on list.

Man wtf? There's a lot of minutes and a great opportunity here for JCL. This is a head scratcher.

Whatever happens there will be a TON of minutes for whoever wants to play on a B1G team.

He's not much of a defender or ball handler. With a coach that places a premium on both as well as an aggressive attitude he may have been the proverbial square peg even though he can shoot the lights out when he's open and in rhythm. It's quite possible he was told he'd have to make big improvements in his overall game if he wanted playing time next season and it didn't sit well.

Maybe (if true) he saw that Alstork is a definite possibility and HE would be the lead SG if that happens. That would mean all other PG/SG minutes albeit a lot available would be by committee...if your defense or overall play is not adequate, you would be limited with said committee?

Alstork, Williams, Jordan, JCL, Frazier, Smith....that's a stacked committee...
