Not a great start tonight. We strand 2 in top 1st and they get 2 runs in bottom. Don’t think I’m gonna make it through this one tonight with the 10 pm start. Setting dvr....

What a play to gun a runner at home to end the 7th. The inside strike to righties is anything batters box, in. Need to start accounting for that.

Omaha has a beautiful baseball facility but, would we get better attendance in the Chicago area or somewhere more central in the B1G footprint?

Maybe so but college baseball isn't exactly a big draw in many areas. Might as well play it in an area that will draw a little bit and in a facility that's used for college baseball at times.

You have to remember that it wasn't until the last decade that the tournament started being played at non-campus sites.

Guess what I really want is to have it close enough where I could go with minimal effort.

Understandable. Though it would likely have to be in a minor league venue like it is now. Most of the MLB teams in the footprint may not wanna give up their stadium for that long.

Yes. Personally I would rather have a smaller stadium with a fuller looking crowd. But agree that the drawing potential is probably limited no matter where it is held.

Illini win on walk-off double in the bottom of the 9th!

That should be enough to get them into the tournament

Now let's go beat Purdue tomorrow!

What a game, and loved that we got back to the Hotel just before midnight and not after 1am like the past two nights. I know the crowds are not that big, but this facility is all first class. For us who spends several days working at the park and are here for several hours, it's huge for use. No campus facility could even come close to this place. That being said, us in the media would like for them to give Indy a look.

Isn't it amazing that there are a million posts regarding basketball and football recruiting, but the one good team we have gets 92 posts in four months?

For those(not students or Alumni) who frown about what college coaches get paid.....please take note.

Minnesota cruising against tOSU right now and looks to be heading to the championship game.

If Illini win against Purdue, then the elimination game between the two would be played right after at 5 PM.

Well, that was not a good start. Purdue scores a run on a single, stolen base, E2, and wild pitch.

1-0 after one-half inning

Not great baseball so far, but hard to blame them when the temperature on the field is around 120 degrees

Illini are not going to make this one easy.

4-4 now with Purdue still batting. So far this inning, Purdue has three runs on 2 HBP, a wild pitch and two errors by the Illini :(

Only Illinois could have the first baseman’s mitt literally break catching a routine throw. Purdue up 5-4. :hurl:
