Let's close it out boys. Pretty amazing performance. The weather in CU leading up to this event was horrid with windchills in single digits and below. By contrast, we are playing a bunch of teams who have been able to be outdoors for most of the winter. Some of them even played a fall season. They heard me! Two shots behind Vanderbilt with several holes to play.
Yes it was huge, and the finish as a whole was massive. Those final three holes were eating everyones lunch. Only Tennessee and us were even on those three holes, the rest over par and Florida was +14. These two wins are massive and are gonna land Illinois in the top 5 I believe for the foreseeable future. got the Louisiana Rajun Cajun in a couple weeks, we have been in this before and there is always a solid field. Not as good as this last one but solid. For those that are new to college golf spectating you can't expect to win every tourney and not winning wont effect you as much as in other sports. Just got to play well. That being said, if they win again they may be ranked the top team in the nation. Depends on the field, Texas teams have been in this before and they are very good, if anybody can find the field post it here please, I've been looking to no avail.I was looking at scores from the final round. What a great moment for that eagle by Adrien on #17. Congrats to the whole team.
Honestly will probably be the softest field of the year, but still have to play well as any college can have a good tourney. Finally! The field for LA Classics: Lousiana, Illinois, Illinois State, MO-KC, UL-Monroe, McNeese State, Michigan, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Rice, Sam Houston, SIU, Texas State, UTEP, UTSA.
Check out Ragin' Cajuns website or Golfstat for more info
Don't mean to jinx, but this could be another win for Illini. Beware of McNeese State (not kidding).
Just play well, Illini. Good luck.
-21 after two rounds. 13 shots ahead of the field.Honestly will probably be the softest field of the year, but still have to play well as any college can have a good tourney.
On the Illinois website they are showing an ESPN+ link to watch this on, which is super rare. Too bad I don't have ESPN+....
yeah they are crushing it, don't know who is more for real this squad or the Bball team. both could legitimately win a National Championship. (I guess basketball is a bit more legit)-21 after two rounds. 13 shots ahead of the field.
