Just depends on who ya ask. Hopefully it’s announced tomorrow. I’ll be glad when all this is done.
If you can Sir, could you rate this on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being "there were calls, both sides listened intently, and people around the place were kinda starting to get nervous a bit," and 1 being "there were call(s), but they were answered purely as professional courtesy and there was absolutely nothing there"?

3-5 range?

I actually find this disheartening.
After thinking about it, I don't find it disheartening.

We have to remember that this is a business. We're emotionally attached as fans, but BU and the staff approach this the way we approach (or should approach) our careers.

My husband and I are happy where we're at, but if either of us got a call from a headhunter, I'd expect us to listen, weigh the pros and cons, potentially interview, and then discuss it once more as a family before coming to a decision. 3-5 to me says they hit maybe the initial interview and it stopped. The process wasn't followed in its entirety.

Hopefully, that's not just because of money but even if it is, so be it. Someone tried to poach our HC and he stayed. The allure of going home is strong and he stayed. That's a good thing.

This is EXACTLY the right way to look at it.

This! The numbers tossed around on Twitter (who knows if they are real) were insane, $6 million/year for 10 years, that is generational money for a head coach that hasn’t been past the round of 32, let alone hasn’t won a national championship. But something even remotely in that ball park would be hard to turn down by anyone. All you can do is shake their hand and wish them luck if they land such a deal.

I console myself that if he were to leave, the program is in such better shape that that landing an up an coming coach, Self after Kruger for example, would be possible, as opposed to the insane mess when replacing Weber, where no one picked up the phone when we called.

There's no way $6 mill was realistic for Kansas state to pay. Plus the massive buyout.

I do agree though that it worries me 0% that Brad listened to their pitch. Explore all offers, especially when it's your home

I mean think about it….he grew up there, played there, coached there, his wife is from the same area. You’re gonna listen to your alma mater.
However, if "Culture" is a meaningful goal, you don't walk away from what you built here. Hope he gets a nice raise here and stays.
