Question for the NBA fans. Who would you say is the slowest, least athletic rotational player* in the league currently?

*I'll arbitrarily define that as playing at least double-digit minutes per game.
Marc Gasol may have taken the crown in the last year. Also, he's not actually the slowest, but Kyle Anderson's nickname is Slo-Mo for a reason.

I have to put Robin Lopez on this list, too. He was a good add for the Wizards this year in several ways as part of a 3-center rotation, but it takes him a while to get down the court.

The local, Denzel Valentine is also on the list. Some players play "above the rim"...he plays "barely above the floor"

Those that don’t think they play defense aren’t watching any NBA playoffs. Quit watching regular season some yrs ago as no consistent effort so can’t comment on current defense. Actually think game is much more interesting with current big men who must be able to move. Speed of game makes college game slo-mo. Don’t understand draft ranking but strength and shooting (must be quick and accurate) would be prime requirements. Guessing they can develop strength easier than the skills and so not as much of an issue. Will be surprised if Kofi doesn’t make it simply because of his athleticism at his size. Ayo’s game looks like a perfect match if he can improve his long range shooting. Don’t know rate of success with high draft choices but know there are many who never pan out.

So I’m curious. We’ve been talking about how getting Ayo and Kofi drafted would look good for Illinois and likely help with recruiting down the line. But now that it looks very possible that Ayo won’t go until 2nd round and Kofi not at all, does that take some of the shine off the narrative?

This is what I'm worried about. If Ayo accomplished all that he did, and still can't make it into the first round, who can blame top recruits when they pick Kansas, or Kentucky or Michigan over us? I'm really hoping he manages to get drafted in the first round, it'd be a real bummer if he slipped to the 2nd

I thought I heard he didn’t do shooting drills or scrimmage.
“He won’t do any shooting drills or 5-on-5 work.” Per WCIA.

Not sure opting out of scrimmaging was a good decision. His last showing, against a very solid defensive team (one that likely earned an “elite” tag and actually earned it), left some questions from NBA teams.

Now I’m sitting here wondering why no shooting drills? Did he tweak his shot or something?

I think all that matters is A) do they make the league and B) do they contribute at a high level.

Meyers Leonard going in the lottery didn’t move the needle much.

The players who earn live screentime with ESPN combine hosts to discuss their NBA futures don’t have to do those things to be drafted in the first round

Looks like we’ll know officially if Kofi is coming back or not on July 7. He can withdrawal on July 19, but he won’t retain his eligibility.

I'd love for him to come back, but guys, he's gone. What else do you want him to say? He's told us twice.
To be fair, Ayo was also very firm about leaving. I agree with you that he's likely gone, but it's normal for people to hold on hope until it's completely off the table. We'll be able to move on come July 7th

Composite of 11 mock rankings has Ayo at 25. No Kofi in top 82.

NBC Sports Edge, which I don’t believe was considered in the composite article, has Ayo going 26 to Denver. Only did first round this mock, so no Kofi sighting.

No way Kofi is coming back. Plus who is paying for his two months training in Frisco? Lodging, performance center private training, food, etc etc????????
