Gameday!!

I'm nervous. I expect Iran to park the bus from the first minute, but they have enough talent to hit us with a sucker punch goal at any moment.

I'm just asking for 2 things...

1) Berhalter pulls out all the stops. Get Gio and Aaronson on early if we are struggling to score. I hate when managers wait too long for subs. Players need time to get a feel for the game. Put 2 forwards in the box if you have to. Play guys out of position if it means getting more talent on the field.

2) Please don't bunker if we score an early goal. An early goal would be ideal, but we have to keep playing our game after. It will force Iran to come out and play, and will lead to lots of good scoring opportunities. If we do get an early goal, we should capitalize and get a 2nd or 3rd. Please please please don't sit on a 1 goal lead.

I just hope we don't pack it in ... I think with the way the US plays - a bit more unorthodox than the traditional European or South American teams - we need to continue to be aggressive and try to get a second goal.

Most impressed by Tyler Adams and Yunus Musa today. Like what Aaronson brought off the bench as well. If this team had more dependable forward play they would've put this one away much more easily. I commented to my dad before the game that if you could put prime Clint Dempsey on this team they'd be legit.
